Yes, I did the same and no response. He was a YN who really had a passion for coins. I believe he was only 19 or so. He enjoyed Morgans and Jeffersons. I have not heard from him for about two months. He enjoys mountain biking. I hope he didn't get injured. Coins are so much safer. (for the most part).
19 is a major turning point in alot of coin collectors lives. From the senior year on, many of my coin friends around the country began to drop out of the hobby. College, girls and jobs became #1. A few still collect during college and a few got major jobs within the hobby. I hope he is still interested and collects. You can do coins and girls at the same time.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Don't worry i'm never going to give up coins. I don't think i could ever get thru life without looking at another franklin half or ike dollar i am just spending alot of time with school (busniess classes so i'm not one of the hated dealer at a coin show)
