Why delete the ASK?

Why do sellers on the BST board delete the ask price for the coins that they sell?
They list a number of coins that they have for sale along with the prices that they are asking, then, when they sell some of the coins, they delete the ask price and write "SOLD" in its place.
Quite a few times I come ypon these sales only after some of the coins have sold and never see what was asked. It would be nice just to know what the coin was going for. What is the advantage of deleting the original ask price?

That's all fine and dandy, but the fact is the buyers usually PM the seller with their offer to buy, so, the buyer is usually not known anyway. Hence, the seller isn't protecting anything.

<< <i>I don't think it's the sellers deleting the price. I think it's government spies hacking in to the BBS. They're all around us, interfering with even the most trivial matters. Russ, NCNE >>
Good one Russ, I got a chuckle out of that.
