About a month ago I started accepting only Paypal for ebay payments and requesting payment in three days. This works really well! At first I thought my stuff might not bring as much money but I am actually getting higher bids- I think because I am listing more auctions from the ease of selling like this- more buyers look at my other coins and make bids on them also. mike image
  • I like paypal and the quickness of the payment and the small fee is fine with me.

    PayPal....ya got yo love it.

I've had maybe 150 - 200 PayPal transactions (both buyer and seller side). Flawless so far. Smooth as silk. While I do agree with others that their fees are high, I get much more "action" on my auctions when I list PayPal as a payment option. I can't afford NOT TO USE IT!

I think most people are so lazy these days that they refuse to drive to the store, buy a money order, find an envelope, lick a stamp.....etc. They just move on to another auction.

As far as I go, I will bid on actions that don't have PayPal as an option. I'll write a check and wait the extra 7-10 days. No hurry. But most other won't. That's my experience.

I will bid on any auction that has what I am looking for and appears legit. PayPal is nice but not a necessity. Does PayPal really bring higher bids? No one has ever shown me any proof of this in regard to coins. Anyone out there have the proof?
    All glory is fleeting.

    As a buyer...

It cuts the wait time for the coin substancially down... the seller gets the funds imediatly. They usually put the coin in the mail the next day. The funds are verified; no waiting for pay-pal funds to clear.

It's easier to just go to paypal than it is to write a check. No entering the check in the registry. No filling out an envenlope. And no $.37 stamp.

You can put (most) transactions on the credit card... delaying true payment for a month or so.

    As a seller...

There are a LOT of collectors that wont even bid on my stuff if I dont accept it. By accepting it, I have a lot more potential customers. I'm certain my bids end higher because of it.

The funds are VERIFIED and INSTANT. I've never had a paypal payment bounce. Once I get the funds... I've got them. I dont have to make a trip to the bank or wait for anything to clear.

I get higher customer satisfaction from speedy delivery. If someone pays me with pay pal, I have the coin in the mail the same or next day. Customers are a lot happier when they get a coin in three days... as opposed to three weeks. (Three or four days to get the check, ten biz days for the check to clear, three or four days for them to get the coin.)

Hell, I would still take PayPal if they hadn't STOLEN $2000 from me.

But they can go f ...... themselves from now on. They put ME through hell getting my OWN money.

    Everybody verified and NOTHING amiss.

PayPal an me will NEVER be together again.

and.....wayneme....... if you won't BOTHER with non paypal sellers, I will offer you a 1794 large cent in ...oh...nearly good....with some rim issues and a photo if you PM me and agree to sent me a MONEY ORDER for $140.00

No other conditions and a 5 day money back privilege.

    Paypal sucks. I won't.
