Ebay disussion board war, T&S vs. C&PM

I just got off of a live chat with ebay, a major problem has risen. An ebay member of C&PM gave an open invitation to ALL T&S board users, to come over and harass the Coins & Paper money discussion board. This has been going on for a few days now, but will cease within 24 hours (but how do I know that???)

Well, after watching this activity for a day, I noticed how bad it was. The C&PM regulars are being bashed, harassesd, and the discussion board is being clogged up by the board regulars @ trust & safety. They are making up useless discussions, and bash any regular board member that posts a legitimate discussion.

But today...........it ends. I reported this activity to ebay, and alot of their other board members have shifted attention to the C&PM board, my proof!!!!!!!!

  • For those of you that are not aware, eBay has a Coins and Paper Money discussion board where members can talk with eachother about coins and paper money. What panama is saying is that a member of that forum told members of another forum, the Trust & Safety Board (a bunch of low-life idiots sitting on a board acting like they rule the world by reporting everything they come across) to come and harass members of the Coin and Paper Money forum. Now these low-life idiots are reporting almost every thread to eBay trying to find violations with each one. For example, if someone posts an auction that is questionable, these people will report it and eBay will remove it. There is no legitimate discussion going on because these people butt into every conversation acting like children and acting like they rule the roost. I don't think any of this is relevant to any of us here but this is what he is talking about.

All I can say is that I had my eBay account hijacked several months ago by one of these people. They are very clever and your best bet is to stay far away from any eBay board, do not give any identifying information about yourself, etc. eBay is loaded with these low-life thugs that wish nothing more than to participate in fraud, then turn around and act like hypcocrites and report others for something totally frivolous and ridiculous. eBay used to be a classy way to trade merchandise, now it's turned into a trash factory full of 16 year olds using Daddy's credit card.

Anyway, that's that. Let's talk about coins! image

I don't think I've ever participated in one of the ebay forums before.

  • Hey CPC

Knew you was over here, how are you doing, now that you're away from all of the chaos @ the ebay discussion board?

    I'm sure you feel better!!

Someone had to do something, and I decided to step up to the plate (that's all).

You and others that used that discussion board, really helped me out when I had problems identifying coins.

Even when I had problems with my auctions, you stepped up to the plate. And told me what I was doing wrong, well my auctions are doing good now. Your advice, and others helped me along.

Sad to see you leave ebay. i'll be back.

And exactly what sense does it make to bring this over here? With the exception of a few well known idiots here, this board is relatively peaceful. You have a problem on that board, deal with it there.

Trust and safety are not "a bunch of low life idiots who report everything they come across" - They report posting violations which, if any of the regulars of the Coin board take time to read ( that's if they can read ) would see that making posts talking about auctions they believe to be fraudulent, is against the rules and WILL BE reported. They did not come across to harass you, but, as you stated, were invited over by one of YOUR members.

Fortunately the board has now been cleaned of all the posts that have been made and is running normally once again. Should there be posts defaming peoples auctions over there then they will be reported again.

NONE of the regular helpers on the Trust and Safety board would stoop so low as to hijack your account - if you had half an ounce of sense in your body you would realise that. You are just upset becuase you are no longer able to report fraudulent auctions / sellers over there without getting your wrists slapped. Hopefully you will all grow up now and let the board run in a proper and informative manner.TextText

Hey! Now this is getting interesting. An imported flamewar!

  • I'm glad you seem to think you know me Mr. ebayman. You obviously have created a Collectors Universe account and have no interest in coins do you? You just came here because someone mentioned it on that board. Noone here is going to agree with your childish attempts to report every single thing to eBay. You are the reason fraud runs on the site and you are the reason decent people get naru'd when fraudulent sellers are allowed to say, because YOU are probably the people participating in the fraud. This thread is not relevant to this board and I ask you to please not waste our time here. We like to talk about coins, away from the regulation and childish trolls on eBay.

hmmm....... let those ebay clowns pull that crap over here..... they'll get the royal boot on out of here!

  • If you like to talk about coins, then why the hell did you start this thread in the first place ???

And no - I do not collect coins - couldn't care less about them.

Secondly - I am not the reason that fraud runs on the site - I like to think that I have helped stopping some of the fraud.

Thirdly - If you like to talk about coins, then what the hell has a picture of a girl sitting on a car got to do with coins ???

    Practice what you preach.

    Ebayman,

That "girl" sitting on a car owns many of the finest coins in the hobby - and the car. She could probably buy and sell your little troll ass several times over.

Uh oh, you badmouthed Lucy. Now you're gonna get it!
  • ebayman,

I'm sorry. Were you talking to me? That girl sitting on that car is Lucy, she likes Franklin Half Dollars but something tells me you have no idea what those are. You signed up for a CU account with absolutely ZERO interest in coins and you want to talk about posting violations? You genuinely believe you've stopped fraud on eBay? Really? Also, I didn't start this thread but I'm sure someone mentioned it over on your board so you felt inclined to come here, right? Please keep this relevant. If you have no interest in coins, please leave. This board doesn't need to be invaded by all your cronies, leave it on eBay, not here.

    welcome to the boards ebayman

the police here do not cancel auctions but do revoke memberships

keep up the profanity and you will be shortlived, and have to try again as ebayman2 or ebayrulesrule or Iworkforebaysookaytosuckmoneyfromeveryone or something else.
  • Ok - made your point and I've made mine.

You have to know that we're going to be keeping an extremely close eye on the C&PM board for a very long time ( especcially idiots like TOOLESYSTEMS who seems to think that he/she owns the board ).

    Adios amigos.

Listen to this guy. It is because of self appointed board cops like him that I never bother to go over there. Someone needs to get a life.

The curious thing is that you can't even post at ebay unless you give them a
    credit card number.

  • Yeah you can clad. All you have to have is an e-mail address to buy and post. You need a cc # to sell.

I'll try again, but each time it won't proceed without a credit card number.

If you use a throwaway email account like Yahoo or Hotmail they require the credit card. If you use a real email address, they won't ask for it.
  • Ah yes you're right K6. I apologize. I'm on AOL, that's why I never think about that.

    Soooooo.........
How do eBay message board members get auctions cancelled? It seems like the real experts in the industry that do know a fradulant coin when they see one are unable to do so.
It's also weird that if you have a problem on an eBay message board you can get an eBay rep live in chat to complain about it but if you have any other kind of problems you have to go through a maze of menus & protocal just to get a canned responce saying "thank you for contacting eBay Safe Harbor. We have investigated your complaint and are unwilling to help you. eBay is just a venue. Too bad so sad." or words to that effect.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Panamabeachbum, since you're new, I'll point out that if this belongs anywhere in the CU forums, it belongs over in the Open Forum. The arcane feuds of another site aren't really relevant here.

ebayman: The same goes for you ... and in spades! Your posts suggest that what PBB and CPC posted about your T&S crew is probably right. Shooting yourself in the foot is considered to be painful by most people. How? You basically attack these others for making posts reporting possible fraudulent auctions and accuse PBB & CPC of being "upset becuase you are no longer able to report fraudulent auctions / sellers over there without getting your wrists slapped." And then you brag "I like to think that I have helped stopping some of the fraud." How? Reporting people who post about fraud. Duh!! If that's the typical level of intellectual acument of T&Sers, well, no wonder there's so much fraud on eBay ... the scammers are fighting unarmed opponents. According to you, T&Sers aren't fraudbusters but petty censors. Get a life!
