That humanity at large will ever be able to dispense with artificial paradises seems unlikely. Most men and women lead lives at the worst so painful, and at the best so monotonous, poor, and limited, that the urge to escape, the longing to transcend themselves, if only for a few moments, is and always has been one of the principal appetites of the soul.

That liberty nickel isnt quite mine yet. I bought it off of WWW on this forum actually. I mailed him the check today and he sent the coin today (hopefully).
I put that on my web site to show my dad. We have to both love the coin to buy it. If not, there is no deal. We both liked it so I guess the deal is done.
Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all that he has done. --Colossians 2:7

I remember how upset the customers got at the station I night-managed while in college - Ethyl (that's premium gas, not a woman) went up to 18.9 cents a gallon!
I've got a granddaughter older than some, and her mother's older than most posters in this thread. You "almost 69" guys, move to the back of the bus - I'm closer to 71 than 70, and every one of the 2,630 days since I retired have been great! I figure on collecting for at least another 25 years.
Like so many here, I was an avid coin collector from 11 to 16, and then other interests took over my budget (cars and girls). When I rediscovered numismatics at about age 30, how wonderful to be able to afford some of the coin types and conditions I only dreamed of owning as a kid! I wish the 13 year old "me" could see my collection now, I think I'd be really impressed!
