Didn't the New Orleans Mint still make Morgan in 1904, Robert?

The NO Mint was taken over by Lousiana and then Confederate forces in 1861. It was re-opened in 1879 to strike eagles and double eagles. It operated coining US silver and gold until 1909, when it closed permanently.

I will be in New Orleans for a medical convention in early April and have arranged to have a half day at the old mint (now a state museum) doing research. If anyone has any further questions, please advise

    Me too.

When I turned 50 last year, I went out and bought two Liberian overdate coins from the 19th century. That was my BIG 50 to myself.
