Important Announcements later today

Hi All...

We'll have a few important announcements later today. And I'll be doing the Q&A Forum a little earlier this afternoon. I'm still having a little trouble with me at home internet connection (Cox Cable.) But I'll do the important stuff this afternoon. If my internet works at home, I'll bang away tonight too.

Good announcements are always welcome. I'm looking forward to hearing what is coming up. I'm a gold CC member still, but I am looking forward to seeing things that will inspire me to re-up in April/May.

They have found the fingerprint culprit. His punishment will be to finalize all FR.1-AG3 coins.

Let me guess - you're going to start maintaining a sophisiticated and elaborate photo file of all graded coins guaranteeing that if any previously submitted coin is subsequently cracked out and resubmitted for regrade it will automatically be identified and given its previously assigned grade?

OK then, maybe you are going to introduce the 'viewable edge holder' that allows you to see the edge of the coin in the slab in response to the massive demand from ealry copper edge variety collectors?

OK - you're going to start showing the previous and the current grade of any regraded coin, sort of like those people who retake the MCATS and have to avergae the original and subsequent scores?

OK, you've hired Frank Van Valen to start grading colonials?

I'm pretty sure one of these has to be right.

On a more serious note - I must admit, if I were in your position, had posted what you did and received the replies (including mine,) you have, I'd be thinking to myself, "why bother?"imageimage

"They'll close the forums" talk is getting old. Let them close the forums. Who cares. We'll move across the street. It will be their loss. While they are at it, maybe they should have thier mail forwarded to Sarasota, Fl while they are at it.

I'm sure the announcement will be good. If it were bad, would you get all your customers fired up and excited?

I do not intend to cross the street. I will go back to finishing writing the childrens book

I started some time ago.The feelings I have for the uniqueness of this Forum can not

That's the big announcement? This Forum is NOT being shut down?

(Or, was it to announce a positive quote from Greg is NOT forthcoming?)

-I'm also grateful YOU understand this Forum. I still don't.

HRH, I've made many positive comments about PCGS.

Perhaps you just missed them like you missed all the screaming for so many years about the plunging crossover rates and the fingerprinting of coins and the lack or PR70s and the lack of customer service.

See how easy it is to miss things you don't want to see. image

If you would like, I'll email you links to any positive comments I make about PCGS.

The air is strangely still. Suddenly there are no sounds. The birds have flown away, lions, tigers and bears have fled, weasels and mongrels and kitties have hidden, the ground starts to tremble, and the top of the mountain begins to leak smoke... image

Greg, I think my submission is in the beta testing stage of "Super Economy". Even though they are officially "Economy" and are valued at more than $100 each, they have nonetheless been in the hands of PCGS since 1/8/03. That's only 62 days, I guess I'm 4% of the way to getting them graded! At that rate, the fingerprints that are complimentary with the service will really have corroded the surfaces of the coins.image

Come on. I can't recall complaining recently about the economy turnaroun time. Sure it sucks. Even DH has admitted that and everyone including him knows it has to be worked on. I have two economy invoices in there right now and I fully expect them to take two months. I dropped them off at Long Beach knowing this would be the case. Honestly, I don't remember what most of the coins on the invoice were.
