PNNA Portland, OR show report...

It was a 3 day show this year and for me, it was action packed on Friday with the dealer to dealer sales.
I was feeling pretty wiped out before it opened to the public at noon. When I got home on Friday eve, I was scrounging around for more inventory and wrestling with putting some of my personal stuff out there.
Saturday was less busy over all than last year, (Halloween may have played a part in that and kept more folks from traveling). Bullion sales for me were pretty good though I did not bring a lot. People were buying pretty steady given the smackdown on metal price the past week. I've got a lot of local dealer friends and coin club members all over the place so it was really fun chatting it up and sharing purchases & sales. @pursuitofliberty stopped by on Saturday and he's just an all around cool person to talk with. Fishing, Family, Coins, anything goes (despite him being a crack addict. :D ) I hit him up later for some help with a pretty sweet 1807 Bust I possibly overpaid for but had to have.
I was neighbors with Daryl - aka @2windy2fish - He's a great guy and a fount of information. Honest and friendly with customers. The entire weekend I was bugging him to check my grades & prices and I appreciated the help since I'm mostly winging it. My table mate Mark is also fun to hang with, we shared stories, traded some coins, talked some crap about a couple folks that rub the wrong way, etc.

A couple observations... ANYTHING nicely toned was bringing very strong prices! There were definitely some mediocre toners all over the place where some dealers who thought they could ask moon money. I'm sure I'll see those next year in the same cases. Everyone I spoke with said the show was great, sales were strong and energy was high. That penny lady was set up and busy all weekend every time I walked by. We chatted a couple times briefly and she may write up something also.

All in all a fun weekend. Anacs was there so I dropped off a couple Dcarr pieces, A bust quarter, a little gold dollar and the nicest 1977 quarter you've ever seen. Fingers crossed on all of those!
I let a couple coins go that I will miss, that's for sure but I added a couple crazy coins to my PCI box of 20 toner side project... I found a really nice toned buffalo, a CAC Proof War nickel in an OGH and a wonderful late die state 07-112 1807 Bust half also sometimes know as the 50 over 20 variety. Don't I sound smart? (Thanks again Todd) B)

I'll shoot some photos of said coins later this week and share them as I do.

I spend summers in Mukilteo (WA) - I need to hang out until the end of October next year and attend this show. Sounds like fun and I need to visit Oregon to boot.

Was a great show for me. I had a nice forward-facing corner at the very front of the bourse. Sunday was dead for sales, but it was very robust Friday and Saturday. Overall, especially for the category of show, it was outstanding. Sales were good and conversations arguably even better, if they could be metricized. Sat next to Charmy (@pennylady), probably the first time were were set up next to each other at a show, though we have known each other amicably for many years now. That was, naturally, vino convenient.

I went Sunday around noon - too late, people were already packing out and several tables were empty. But my shopping was limited too - I brought no cash, just one slab and some silver for trade and barter. I did well, and traded to get a new to me 1893 Morgan in AU58 and a raw 1/4 oz AGE since Gold had a rough week. I tried to find some platinum to pick up, but the only folks with a selection didn't want to trade. Love the location/parking/views here too.

Thanks for the report. I live in the area but couldn't make it, hopefully next year.

Great report. If this show hadn’t been smack in the middle of my Hawaii trip I would have come down. Next time I’ll plan better.

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.
