There are still games ongoing but let’s do a Top 12 recap, just for fun.

Miami won easily in a landslide.
BYU lost in OT to an unranked.
    Ohio State was idle.
    Notre Dame was idle.
    Georgia was idle.
Indiana won in OT to an unranked.
    Ole Miss getting hammered.
    Texas Tech lost to unranked.
    UCLA won easily.
    Utah playing late.
    Tennessee lost to an unranked.
Kentucky is up at the half.

Looks like some changes are coming as the carnage continues and the list of 2-loss teams grows. After today there will be only 2-3 undefeated teams. Gonna be a weird Playoff.

Secondary is decimated. 1 score game now. Chambliss was terrible first half and Arch was what he was supposed to be first half. Ole Miss Lacy and their C hurt back to back plays but just scored TD. This isnt over

SoCal how do you lose to a team with 58 passing yards. Their playoff chances are over

Ole Miss show up in the first half and you win

@Steven59 said: From what I saw today they should be out of the top 10.

I'm not so sure about that. To a degree a lot of the confusion is caused by the AP Voters who have a tendency to move teams up/down by a lot and BYU is a good example. After they beat 2 Notre Dame everybody crowned them King and wanted them at 1-2, in truth they should have been around 5 with the Irish behind them. But the Voters did the same thing when 4 Texas beat Ohio State, dropped them from 1 to 6 which seemed extreme. Unless a team gets really shellacked when playing another closely ranked team they shouldn't be punished so severely.

The past few weeks have showed me and I'd hope everyone else how NIL and the Transfer Portal has affected things, both the SEC and BIG 10 just aren't as dominant as years past. Both Oregon and now we'll see Ohio State have been affected by major injuries to their QB's while everyone else just looks lackluster. There's really no "Bully on the Block" in either Conference. Miami is the heir apparent in the ACC, taking over for Clemson, this may be the year that Conference is Champion in January.

I bet there's a shuffling around of the Top 12 but the bottom half of the Poll is where the interesting movement will be. Maybe some teams will be on the edge, ready to enter when the next round of embarrassing losses takes place.

Miami --- right now they seem like the undisputed best team.
Ohio State --- how can these three be penalized for not playing??
    Notre Dame
    Georgia
    Indiana --- really unimpressive win.
UCLA --- not much to see from these 2 but they keep winning.
    Utah
Kentucky --- what a pleasant surprise, I hope they keep it up.
BYU --- water, as they say, seeks its own level.
Alabama --- probably the best of the 2-loss SEC teams.
I'm lost on 11-12, everyone that had a chance to move up lost(USC, Houston, Iowa, Tennessee) and there are a bunch of teams that have proven to be flawed frauds waiting(LSU, Texas, Florida).

Can't wait till 2PM for the results and tomorrow for the explanations.

Top 10, by my estimate more evenly split than it's been in a while.

    1-ACC.
    1-Independent.
    3-BIG 10.
    3-SEC.
    2-BIG 12.

I may be the lone wolf, but I enjoyed the Indiana/Michigan game.
    .

We have a ton of injuries, but we have two weeks to get ready for LSU in Death Valley.
LSU opens @ -3.5 in this elimination game.
    .

When Saban retired Kiffin would have crawled to Tuscaloosa, but they hired DeBoer.
Kiffin wants this game. I expect at least 3-4 trick plays.

NIL & the portal have altered the landscape of college football. there's more parity this year than any in recent memory. and that will make for a great CFP. it will be anyone's ballgame.

as i said last week, 1-10 in the SEC is practically interchangeable. we were reminded of that again yesterday. that makes the conference incredibly interesting.

    What a strange year.
"Saturday’s win over Iowa means Minnesota has Paul Bunyan’s Axe, Floyd of Rosedale and the Little Brown Jug at the same time for the first time since 1978."

Paul Bunyan’s Axe is the trophy vs Wisconsin (still in possession from last year), Floyd of Rosedale is the trophy vs Iowa and the Little Brown Jug is the trophy vs Michigan.

Here's the latest Top 12, some minor differences than what I anticipated but nothing drastic. It is sort of head shaking that they dropped Notre Dame 3 spots for not playing and moved Indiana up after a pathetic performance against Michigan. The choices at 11-12 should remove any doubt of the inherent SEC bias, especially with Texas. Also, it's peculiar that some teams have left the Top 25 altogether and others just can't seem to get any traction and move up. To me, some of the choices seem like little more than cannon fodder.

    1. Miami (Fla.)
    2. Ohio State
    3. Georgia
    4. Indiana

Thats the only reason. Indiana that high is a joke, Michigan wins if they dont shank an easy FG. Utah beat Houston whose good but nothing special theyre too high. If anything Bama Texas and Ole Miss should be ahead of Utah and BYU. Bottom third of the rankings you could put like 20 teams into which is why expanding to 24 playoff teams sucks just putting cannon fodder in there

I want the AP Voters and everyone else to explain why they think Georgia or Notre Dame should drop and Indian should be ahead of them. The Bulldogs/Irish were idle and did nothing in a negative sense while Indiana, as a supposed powerhouse, hasn’t looked very good for two weeks. They crapped the bed against Michigan by looking terrible in every facet of the game except one: their defense inside their own 5 yard line. The Hoosiers played worse against Michigan than Ohio State and should have lost 24-10 if the Wolverines didn’t suck so badly.

Things have gotten so topsy turvy this season that poor performance is rewarded - - - as long as a team wins.

    Two observations:
With all the Top 10 losses in the last two weeks, the majority being teams from the SEC, will the AP Voters keep packing the Poll with those teams??

Will Ohio State be the 3rd straight Number 2 ranked team to lose?? Absent Julian Sayin it is sure set up that way.

Indiana & Michigan were essentially the same team in that game. that's not exactly a great look for IU. if i'm vying for a chip, the last thing i want at any point is anyone saying that my team was basically Michigan. there was very little disparity. great defenses, completely inept offenses. i mean, if you're to be taken seriously, you need to be able to do more on offense than Western Michigan, Oklahoma, UTEP, Iowa, Minnesota, and Penn State did. and the Hoosiers produced a fewer number of points than all but two of those teams.

and speaking of the Wolverines, if i'm a fan i'd want to vomit. as gross a loss as they've had this season, and they had more than one prior to that game. a signature W was sitting on a silver platter from 4 yards out, and a guy they're paying 10 trillion dollars wasn't even in the game. of course they dork the next couple of plays and have to settle for a FG. hell, they might have been able to sneak Underwood three times from the 4 and house one, but the guy sucks so bad that they'd rather dial up two plays that had no shot. next thing you know, they retreat 4 yards and kick one from the 8. then they capitulated in true 2026 Michigan Wolverines fashion.

What actually set my hair on fire were the sacks that Underwood was willing to take. Those included at least one inside the 5 and another that took Michigan out of FG range, not that the kicker could have made it.

There are times when a QB has to know he can’t tack a sack.
