Update on Laura Sperber

FYI, I'm posting this with permission from Laura...
For those of you who don't know, Laura developed an illness at the ANA Show in Pittsburgh. She left for home a little earlier than expected but was hospitalized shortly after her return. Turns out that one of the rare side effects of the kidney replacement medicines is non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She developed a tumor in her leg that grew quickly and has caused much pain. Fortunately the tumor is treatable and she is working through treatments now. For those of you with experience with this kind of thing, you know how difficult the chemo can be on one's physical body and emotional state. She has been in the hospital for over a month and she is really starting to miss her numismatic friends (even the PNG Dealers!).
She doesn't have access to the forums, but I can tell you that she'd love to hear from fellow collectors. If you have a chance, send her an email to lsperber1@hotmail.com. Let her know you're thinking about her and share a numismatic story with her. If you have her cell number, send her a text. She's living for the communication from her friends around the country and I know she'd appreciate the thought...
Sincerely,
John Brush

Dang, that's rough, thanks for sharing, she's a fighter, I pray she gets out of this and heals.
Wishing you all the best Laura in connection with a speedy recovery. Hope all goes well.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
I am so sorry to hear this. I hope she makes a speedy recovery. I also hopes she follows her doctors’ orders and rest all she needs - the coins will always be there when she returns.
@JBatDavidLawrence, thank you for your post, John.

The court jester does not play, but gently pulls the strings…
Best wishes to Ms. Sperber for a full recovery.
Had never met Laura before but went up to introduce myself and congratulate her after she was inducted into the ANA Hall of Fame. She’s got a hardcore softball background and I’ve been in baseball my whole life so we have the diamond in common.
I enjoyed chatting with her albeit very briefly. Certainly hope she recovers and gets back to being as active as she wants to be with coins.
Hope she gets well soon.
I always liked her posts...some good stuff in the day...take care...CC
I hope her health improves. I wish you the best, Laura.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Laura used to be a fixture here. Knowledgeable and sometimes controversial, but an asset to these boards. Cancer is tough and chemo can have unwanted side effects years later. You're tough, too, Laura. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Does she not have access because she has been banned? That feels like an easy thing to resolve if so?

Her original forum name was "Legend" and she was banded several years ago.

For those who want to wish Laura well, please keep these 3 things in mind:
1) @JBatDavidLawrence posted that she doesn’t have access to the forum
2) He posted that her email address is lsperber1@hotmail.com
3) It’s just as easy to send Laura an email that she will see as it is to post a message here, that she might not see.

Always enjoyed reading her viewpoints, as I do others.
Hope she gets better
Oh no, I knew something was wrong. She was supposed to bid on some coins for me at the ANA but texted me she could not, and I did not know why. Thank you for the update. I will text her my best wishes. She has been dealing with this health issue for years now, and I had hoped it would go better. I would talk to her when she was going through dialysis.
Prayers for a quick and complete recovery .
