Seeing @erikthredd hasn't posted since February I started an updated NBA thread. Hope he's OK wherever he may be.........

The Philadelphia 76ers open the 2026–27 regular season on Opening Night against the defending champion New York Knicks on October 20, 2026, at Madison Square Garden. Then 2 days later they are at home taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Should be interesting to see how the Philly coach will manage playing time for Embiid and James.

Strus hurt again - glad Cleveland traded him to the Warriors - he was just so inconsistant for the Cavs.
"On Monday, the team announced that Strus suffered a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot. He will be reevaluated in four weeks, effectively ruling out for the remainder of the preseason and the start of the regular season."
His left foot last year when he was with the cavs.............
"Max Strus missed the majority of last season with a Jones fracture in his left foot that required surgery.
He suffered the break during offseason workouts and underwent an operation in August 2025. This injury sidelined him for the first five months of the season. He did not make his season debut for the Cleveland Cavaliers until mid-March 2026, playing in only 12 regular season games before returning for the playoffs."

Nice
Oh my.
Just think.
In a little over 8 months (mid June, 2027) the 2026-2027 NBA Champion will be crowned. Those 8 months should go by very fast, don't you think?
Last night I did watch the preseason game between the Lakers and GSW. It is strange seeing the Lakers fielding a team that does not include LeBron James; that fields a team with his son seeing a lot of playing time [he played well last night and is played much better than he did the previous two years]; and fielding a team with a large number of players who are white.
As for GSW, their #11 draft pick (Yaxel Lindenborg?) [24 years old, 6'9", 240 lbs out of MIchigan] looks like he is going to be a very, very good player. He is NBA ready and is not an inexperienced youngster of 18, 19 or 20 years of age. He just turned 24 and he played at the college level for 6 years.

Well I live in the Cleveland area and our winters from late December to early March is snowy, cold, and depressing with clouds and hardly a glimpse of the sun - so time drags by so slowly........... The Daytona 500 is a glimmer of hope that the winter weather is drawing to a close but still time drags..........when March Madness starts to happen then time starts speeding up.........Soon talk of the Guardians fills the airwaves and finally the talk of NBA playoffs start..........then it's football season again as summer flies by..........

Talk about LeBron James son - the last pre-season game I saw had him playing 21 minutes with 4 point, 0-for from 3 but at least he had 5 dimes. I just wonder if he's going to stick with LA for the season?

I forgot all about Kyrie.........
"Mavericks 132, Rockets 115: Kyrie Irving (17 pts in 22 minutes) returned in good form to spark Dallas to a win in our second contest in Macao, looking healthy in his first game since March 2025."
