@IkesT Thanks for letting me know. I had bought 2 other privy quarters and got a refund because the specs were way off, especially the weight. I have already requested a refund on those 2 quarters and will do the same on the one. I’m building an inexpensive small cent type set and this little guy in VG10 just showed up today.
Newbie collector of type and circulated Peace dollars, photographer of places and animals, player of instruments and builder of amplifiers, espresso industry professional, and a person distracted by shiny objects.
There are a number of ways to tell, but one easy one is that there is a dash between 1776 and 2026 instead of a tilde.
If you have a return option on that item, send it back without delay for a refund; it absolutely a fake.
I have been looking at these privy coins. I did not know about the "tilde" identifier, apparently nether did the fraudsater who punched these out. I would keep one for educational purposes, but not it was sold for. Thank you for the PUP!

@AlanSki The reverse picture under the 1898-O $1 looks a lot like a D mintmark. Just what my aged eyes see.
I like the mint mark on the obverse design! Very attractive! Surprised its not in a CAC holder or beaned!
