at minimum $1
lol
We just had granite steps installed in front of the house. We took two of these dollars, put them in self-slabs, into plastic sleeves, wrapped in aluminum foil, put inside metal tins, and we dropped them into the space under the top step before the granite slab was put into place.
Maybe ask the finders in a hundred years or so how they feel about them. 😃
Prolly won't be around then ...... lol
No
lol ... tell us how you really feel . just kiddin
This is not a political comment. It COULD just become the new norm for all incoming presidents.

Hate to say it, but we've seen this before. Not exactly the same, happened a lot faster then. Won't be this president nor the next. But history repeats itself. Unless we learn from it. ~44 BC a numismatic tradition was broken.

Your going to have to add a few more gold pieces to those to make the News.
No modern with a mintage of 10 million plus and virtually 100% survival in UNC will ever be worth anything. If there were 10 million UNC chain cents, they wouldn't be worth anything either.
It's really very simple.
All comments reflect the opinion of the author, even when irrefutably accurate.
I totally agree with you !!! Just too many of them as you stated to ever hold any meaningful value 😎

Have any of the other presidential dollars appreciated significantly?
They'll be worthwhile to his supporters, worthless to his detractors. . .the market will settle things over time, like any other doodad. . .
Simpler than that but I’m in disagreement. The base metal is currently valued at eleven cents. The way copper is going , it could double in the next five years and be worth almost a quarter. A quarter of its’ denomination.
Why wait 100 years?? In my eyes it’s already rubbish.
It will always be worth face value.

As a loyalist token, perhaps. I could see them becoming a symbol of support for the man and what he represents, or perversely, they could end up a symbol for divergence with the status quo in a general sense, much like the Che Guevara T-shirts that so many wore in my youth. That said, they will always be available as novelties, perhaps commanding a small premium in bulk, that they may be handed out by the disenfranchised populace like secret handshakes.

Oh yeah, and they would make absolutely banger Hobos.

Just one thing: I have zero issues with who or what we depict on our coinage. My issues have always been the violation of and disregarding of OUR constitution, which says coins are to be manufactured only in silver and gold and tendered for the satisfaction of debt. No politics.
This is the type of thread where the OP has nothing to contribute, yet the desire to post a thread overcomes all logic and reasoning so childishly, and does so anyway.
The same could be said about your post. It shows what you are all about. Lol
If the mintage is 10 million with a near 100% survival rate, the answer is no.
The Trump inaugural team left money on the table twice when they didn’t market an official inaugural medal. There didn’t seem to be any complaints about that. Seems like there aren’t many Trump collectors.
If there is a Trump gold coin, it will aways be worth its scrap value.
Thank you.
(You too. Don't forget every single post you make here defines exactly the person you are. Nice to see you out of jail (for the third time). Let's see how long that lasts this time.
Making edits to other members posts, no matter what, should get you some time in jail.
And face value will also be worth nothing over time, as compared to putting the money in the bank. What could you have bought for a dollar a hundred years ago as compared to today?
What would common Morgans be worth today if they did not contain silver? And how many hamburgers or newspapers could that $1 buy today as compared to in 1926? And then, what would that $1 be worth if it sat in the bank earning compound interest for the last 100 years?
So, sure, base metal coins will always be worth their face value. But that face value will depreciate to practically nothing with inflation.
In ancient Rome caesar was able to use his image on coins. I'm not sure about whether that applied to most prior civilizations.
So do you think the only sitting president on a coin in the past 100 years will be worth anything?
Inflation at 5.4% will render it even more worthless than it already has become.
Why so blue redrocket ?

The mint will make one for every president going forward
precedent has been set . Everything being done will be done by the next administration also.
Under what authorization?
This year's coin was minted under the 2026 commemorative coin act.
The mint did not decide to make this, DT wanted it. Same with Treasury and his desire to have signature on the $100 bill. The next administration will push to undo everything over past 21 months and any remaining potential
time in the term which includes not being associated with this idea.
Regarding original question..No. Not in 10 years or 100 years. It is not artistic or scarce, and all of this will be just a blimp in history lost to time.
The only way it would carry any weight is if prevailing administrations prompted an idea to pull this from marketplace reducing supply leaving it limited for the remaining fringe collectors. Although legal tender this will not circulate and any effort to retrieve would not be at bank level, rather collector level. Not likely to see this effort and even Ecuador will not want them. There will be plenty of rolls packed away next to boxes of ammo until the generation of typical collector passes away.
Not since the 2017 gold high relief has such an ugly coin been produced. Anyone that feels DT did not choose the depicted image is not very bright.
Correct...

They could have just as correctly choosen a dumpster fire, but that's no authority for an other dollar coins.

The gold version was minted under the Treasury's general discretion and could easily be repeated without any specific legislation, just like the High Relief series. US Code 31 § 5112(i)(4)(C):
"The Secretary may continue to mint and issue coins in accordance with the specifications contained in paragraphs (7), (8), (9), and (10) of subsection (a) and paragraph (1)(A) of this subsection at the same time the Secretary in minting and issuing other bullion and proof gold coins under this subsection in accordance with such program procedures and coin specifications, designs, varieties, quantities, denominations, and inscriptions as the Secretary, in the Secretary’s discretion, may prescribe from time to time."
