@Bullsitter, Georgia and Indiana have played a common opponent for comparison which leads me to believe the Bulldogs should be ahead of the Hoosiers.

It didn’t take long for Justice to be served to Lane Kiffin on a hot plate!! Didn’t this happen to LSU last season, ranked high initially and dropped out of sight after they were throttled??

Miami dominated ACC powerhouse Wake Forest in the 2nd quarter 17-0 and I'm sure the rest of the game was probably just like that... Is there a department that can put their defense back together? No way they last in the top 10 without a D.

The headline should’ve been LSU only dropped 3 spots after losing by more to a lower ranked team compared to OSU’s loss.
The good Ole sec "quality loss".
But losing on the road by 1 to the now number 1 team in the country doesn’t count as a quality SEC loss for Ohio State, because THEY aren’t in the SEC. LOL

Strength of Schedule is an arbitrary metric that the AP Voters can use to justify their ballots, but it is rarely used equally by each voter or throughout the season individually. The example you gave bears that out: if Texas is the #1 Team, and has been for two weeks now, then that should bear on the voting for Ohio State(one point loss on the road) and it apparently doesn't. If 'Ole Miss should falter and lose to a lower ranked opponent than that should bear on how LSU(eight point loss on the road) is ranked, but I doubt that it will. Overall, the AP Voter system is flawed and rife with bias but it always has been. That's the most sound reasoning for an expanded playoff format: more teams will tend to eliminate that bias and the mistakes in judgement that the voters make throughout the season. At 12 Teams it's more difficult to keep the best teams out because the biased conference voters want to stack the playoff to enhance the chances that one of their teams will win(they all do it). So far, despite all the arguements to the contrary, the best teams have been playing each other the best team has won the Championship. That has pretty much held true each and every year.

The senate passed the bill to limit on how much money schools can pay college athletes. Dont they have more important things to do? I thought this was a free country and our Government wants to dictate our sports. What about capitalism? The last thing we need is government in college sports.

I picked Ole Miss 35-31, but they could still be celebrating the LSU victory. If they are they could be in trouble. Florida beat Texas in the Swamp last year.

Three factors in play: it’s a conference game, it’s too early in the season to REALLY know how good these teams are and Home Field has more affect in NCAA football than maybe any other sport.

Texas vs Tennessee, Ole Miss vs Florida

Might pay attention to Notre Dame if Purdue keeps it close, I think Iowa beats Michigan so I might keep an eye on that one as well

The vote is Monday. What they passed was a resolution to advance to a vote. If your issue is the pay cap, I think you're not really looking into the details. The cap would double from what it is today and establish a national structure. So the cap doubles, goes up 4% annually, and is recalc'd every 3 years based on actual revenue. A big part of the cap increase is dedicated to 2 things:

$22.5M set aside for continuity - can be used to keep returning, eligible, athletes.
$5M for women's and Olympic sports.

1 is a concern for schools because it currently has a 9-year time horizon unless Congress would act to renew it.

Iowa/Mich should be a good game if you like defense.

Northwestern looking like they may be a tough out this year, as they played Indiana tough last night. Northwestern beat Colorado by 34 points.

I think it helps the SEC only in that the SEC only has 16 members today and the B1G has 18. There are some ACC schools which the SEC will likely get that the B1G will want and won’t have the room. Assume it stays as it is.

You thought it passed already. So there’s something to be said for educating yourself on an issue that you’re adding noise to. Know the process. The next step is a vote on Monday. Does that make it law? Nope.

Read past the headline sometime. Explore reality.

I don’t know but it feels a little early to argue about quality wins. SOS is bad and the rankings are a joke but #4 vs an unranked can’t be a quality win. The internal dilemma is real. The juxtaposition is profound. Age comes for us all.
