I'm glad I got some of my orders very early on, and flipped it all, pretty fast for a good profit.

I have two more bags that I just received a shipping notification for. (Ordered day one at 12:22)

I may get half as much for them, maybe a little more, The Bay is flooded with them now.

It wasn't an email that I received. Late in the accepted orders on Sept 2 they went to backorder and it noted the Oct 7 shipping date before finalizing the order.

Decided to keep mine.

USMINT left full charge on my card for 2 weeks, then they removed it on their own.

Largest privy count from one 100 bag is 39, I posted image of that earlier on.

I've seen two errors on the internets, missing outer layer which gives copper inner daylight.

I am open to being satisfied at 1.65x face value if something fun pops up.

Or I wasted $130 over face.

Unopened bags have sold on ebay for over $300, sometimes well over.

Opened and searched bags have been selling for for over $200.

I think sealed bags purchased directly from the Mint will always carry a premium above the direct sale price of $154.50/bag.
There are plenty of people who want the coin even without the privy. Add in the privy "treasure hunt" for sealed bags, and I can't imagine the price ever falling below the issue price per sealed USMINT bag. imho

I can. Probably not in the next couple of months. If the privies eventually settle in the $25 range, then you'd need at least two privies to break even on the bag.

The largest number of them hit this past Sunday. It appears that many of those sold Sunday have shipping confirmation while others who ordered on day 1 are still on back order.

In the past, you could clearly tell it was not part of the post, now it all just blends.

Yes,I posted my old bags from 2005 were ruined and ugly with a film in them. One nickels and one of quarters. I just open them a couple weeks ago.

I also was planning on keeping my bag sealed and hanging onto it - but not anymore. Not sure how long you can keep it before it starts to turn bad. (I guess 22 years is a long time to be in the canvas bag) I would think you could probably keep it for maybe 6 to 8 months? What does anybody think about how long?

So now folks not only got their first order, but their second order has also gone to shipment, while some of us who ordered within the first 30 minutes on day one are still showing back ordered. I don’t get it. If I wasn’t hoping for a privy or two, I would just cancel the order. #Irritated

I recently opened a couple of sealed bags of American Innovation $1 Coins from 2020 and 2023. I took out a few random bunches from the bottom and middle of each bag. In general they seemed ok, a couple had some toning and a couple of others had what looked like "water spots" -- but nothing seemed overly severe. Do you have pictures of your coins? Also, could it be the difference in coin composition between the 2005 nickels/quarters vs American Innovation $1 coins (and these 2026 $1 coins)?

Based on current eBay prices, I'd need to expect more than 2.5 privies (or 5 across the two bags) for it to make sense opening them vs. selling sealed-in-box.

That's a good point. If I found just 3 privies across the two bags I would net about the same as selling two sealed bags. I might get skunked, but I think that math favors opening them (which also has a fun factor).

7:22 AM est "add to bag" I grabbed 11 of them in 3 orders. I am so used to there being very few of any item available that I ordered 1 and then went back to see if still available. It was, so I grabbed more and finished at 7:25 Tried one more order and it was out of stock at 7:26 AM

I am impatient, because of new orders shipping/received when day one orders are still on backorder.

I am terrible at selling things lol. I still have some 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars and 2026 congrats sets that I thought I would get extra with the idea of selling or trading, I just have no experience.

I'm sure I'll just wait it out, as I would always wonder what may have been, if I cancel. I buy the lottery ticket the clerk prints incorrectly, when I ask for a different one, because I'm sure I'd be missing the winner otherwise.

The dates and times are just when the bags were boxed up, but I'd have to think they came from the same bin. I'm thinking there are probably some privies in the second bag.

I’m actually unable to get to them right now because I can’t lift under doctors orders due to pacemaker placement, but I can tell you they are very undesirable. Not all of them have the film. Like you say the ones in the center that we’re not touching the back or OK but I’d say at least 1/4 of them are dull and I’ve lost their brilliance, and many others have a white film on them. I have not tried to wipe it off to see if that helps - gently —that is I’m not gonna try to clean them. I will just spend them, but I do have some of the nice silver polishing cloths that are very soft. I might try to clean a few when I am able to get back to lifting. actually cleaning them can’t hurt them anymore than they already are… Unless I see an MS 67 I probably will just roll them up and spend them.

for however soft the cloth seems it'll be abrasive enough to leave hairlines while trying to remove whatever is on them

"dip it in acetone" is so overused here. but it may help to soak it in acetone first and rinse with alcohol

As far as I know the rings are actually from rolling machines where the enders can get damaged during the crimping process. Mint rolls are apparently treated more carefully - I've never seen the rings on rolls sold by the mint.
