You'll get better opinions with an in-focus image, I'd think.
You haven't noted what coin type or denomination this mintmark is on. Can we get full coin photos?

If it is a counterfeit coin, it could be anything. But, a P over S mintmark has not been discovered, that i am aware of.

when you use software to super zoom you get big pixels and a small image like the above
you need to figure out how to take a picture with zoom lenses instead.
i would recommend against buying a coin microscope at this time
many coin dates would not have rpm, in particular for the last 30+ years

I'm glad my ingorance at least gives some of you folks a chuckle. I realize I have a lot to learn, and I'm not as tech savy as most of you. I appreciate those who have offered their help. I'm an old man with very poor eyesight, but I still try to learn and get some enjoyment out of searching for coin oddities under my less than optimal microscope. I can't see them without it. I hope it makes you feel superior when you poke fun at me. Or, at least you are entertained. I'll just keep trying to learn and will listen to those people who don't mind sharing a little knowledge with an ignorant, but not stupid, old man. Peace.
Thank you. It isn't a counterfeit coin. It is a wide rim 1979 SBA. Not it the greatest condition, but the mint mark is curious. It looked to me like there was two separate letters, and kind of like a P over, but to the right of an S. It isn't clear enough to say for sure, which is why I asked the question in here. I wish I had a better camera with a zoom so I could get higher definition photos, but I don't. Thank you for your answer.
Are you really trying to learn though? What have you learned from every single post that you've made here that's gotten the exact same responses?
What studying have you done and what books have you read? Or are you still just looking at random pocket change under a microscope and imagining things?

unless it's really wide separation with good definition of the under mm, it's going to take well zoomed pics to tell via a photo. there are some that are just fragments barely elevated. with the photo provided, the best I can see is a the blob of a P. the rest is like what i put up. greyscale blobs surrounding it. you can see what is there because you have the coin and the picture. from the photo, i just see scattered blobs and some of them make the P
As noted, one problem is that you are searching random coins without knowing what to look for, which is not an effective way to learn about coins or to make interesting finds.
That being said, about a month ago, you did find a Lincoln cent with a BIE die chip. Rather than continuing an aimless search of random coins, perhaps you might instead start searching for BIE chips of different dates. You've already found one, so why not stick with it and see how far you can get. You won't get rich doing it, but if you enjoy it, that's all that really matters.
Interesting you say this, because that is exactly what I have been doing. I've actually found about a half dozen more since I posted that one.

I have extremely poor eyesight, so reading goes slowly for me, since I need to magnify everything in order to see it (which is why I need the microscope).******

No sir. I've been focussing a lot of time searching through pennies, mostly old wheat cents and indian heads. I also switch to other denominations, but 90% of the time, I'm looking at the wheaties, since I have several 5-gallon pails of them. I think I've given the wrong impression with most of my posts. I've mainly posted about questions I have regarding certain anomolies I've seen. I've learned that this isn't the place to do that unless I'm better prepared and have higher resolution pictures. I need to do more research first. I am sorry for annoying you and others here with my previous posts. I'll do better going forward.

Wow !!! You have a lot of wheaties !!! I can only assume that it took you many years to amass such a large quantity. Years ago I searched bags of them with the kids for fun and it was always cool to find the early year wheats (1909-1920), which in fair condition can have some decent value. Keep up the hunt and educate yourself on early Lincoln cents and varieties, as well as Indian heads as you may be surprised at what you find. Enjoy the hobby 😎👍

I had comments like "baloney" and "nonsense" and it affected me so bad I made the mistake of leaving the forum for years.
That mistake cost me. I missed all the knowledge I would have gotten during that time away.

Thank you Pete. For a while, I had thoughts of leaving too. Your comments here help to give me pause. I'm too old to quit now. LOL But thank you for the kind words. I don't intend to leave. I just intend to use the forumn in a more respectful way. Even those who seem harsh in their words, I understand them and listen to what they have to say. After all, it was me who asked for their comments. Sometimes it takes hard love to raise a child. In many ways, I have to admit I don't know as much as I thought I did. I may not read a lot of books, but I do listen to feedback. Perhaps when I get my cataracts removed, I will read more.
