Serious question...I just sent my 1804 in for grading. I used a Priority Mail box, but the max insurance I could get was $5000. With the medal and a 2026 Morgan, it was more like $6000. I asked the postal worker how I could get more insurance, but it appeared that she didn't think past "What's the priority mail limit" not "How do you ship something of greater value."
Anyway, how do you ship stuff like that? BOM5 is coming up fast...

See...the weird/annoying thing was that I was in the PO a few weeks ago dropping off the BOM3 package, and I asked about $6000 insurance, and they said "no problem." So when I went in there yesterday and she said "It won't let me put in any amount above $5k" I asked "For future reference, if I needed more, what do I do?" And she basically shrugged and said "$5k is the most."
The small Priority Mail box fits a few coins, paperwork and bubble wrap SO easily. And I've never lost a package being sent to PCGS. But there's a first time for every bad thing, so I'll ask again...

Had to drive a few more miles away to the "better" PO. (Customers there were ragging on the other PO as well, not good.)

it didnt help that even after the orig postal employee was confused and couldn't help me, some type of postal manager came to the counter to help and they also insisted it was impossible to insure registered above 5000, turning their screen to me as if i was an expert in their systems

I just received this set. The gold is beautiful. The silver has multiple black fibers (looks like from the packaging), most very fine, in it. They are annoying, and I don’t know if they are harmful. My thoughts are: 1) contact the mint to see if they will exchange only the medal, 2) carefully take the coin out and a) blow the medal and capsule out with compressed air, and/or b) get a very fine camels hair (?) brush (if something is finer, please suggest) and carefully brush the medal and capsule, c) a & b. 3) Something else? - I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, and I don’t want to do anything harmful. - I am also willing to leave it alone if that won’t harm the silver over time. - Thank you.

I would open the capsule and blow it out w dry, compressed air.

Not really. People on the fence might have just sent them back because the price has gone down every week since release. Wait and see whether or not there is a pop in sales when we have a week where the price goes up.
In any event, they are >80% sold through. I think they will eventually sell out.

Not really. People on the fence might have just sent them back because the price has gone down every week since release. Wait and see whether or not there is a pop in sales when we have a week where the price goes up.

compressed air is too forceful
for a silver medal a brush might be ok, but camel hair is too stiff. find something soft
