See...the weird/annoying thing was that I was in the PO a few weeks ago dropping off the BOM3 package, and I asked about $6000 insurance, and they said "no problem." So when I went in there yesterday and she said "It won't let me put in any amount above $5k" I asked "For future reference, if I needed more, what do I do?" And she basically shrugged and said "$5k is the most."

The small Priority Mail box fits a few coins, paperwork and bubble wrap SO easily. And I've never lost a package being sent to PCGS. But there's a first time for every bad thing, so I'll ask again...

Sometimes even THEY dont know what they're doing. They probably dont see it every day, and dont recall this in their training ... I am guessing. They see the priority box, and stop at that. They are human. But registered is additional on top of that, plus an added insurance charge per $1000 (or part thereof) of declared value.
I use a priority (regular, NOT express) box and add registered to PCGS. Cheaper across country than when they measure your own box.

I've had to insist on adding registered service. I had the more local PO say they couldnt just because they didnt have the stamp they use on the taped seams (you need that brown paper tape too). Had to drive a few more miles away to the "better" PO. (Customers there were ragging on the other PO as well, not good.)

it didnt help that even after the orig postal employee was confused and couldn't help me, some type of postal manager came to the counter to help and they also insisted it was impossible to insure registered above 5000, turning their screen to me as if i was an expert in their systems

apparently that specific po is not the one I should go to for these matters 🙃

I would open the capsule and blow it out w dry, compressed air.

Not really. People on the fence might have just sent them back because the price has gone down every week since release. Wait and see whether or not there is a pop in sales when we have a week where the price goes up.

In any event, they are >80% sold through. I think they will eventually sell out.

compressed air is too forceful

for a silver medal a brush might be ok, but camel hair is too stiff. find something soft

I have to say I'm pretty upset that my set that was processed into PCGS on Sep 4 at EXPRESS level service is still in "Grading" status. A follow-up express order received on Sep 14 is still in "Order Entry." So much for Express service being fast. To be fair the Stats page is showing that it takes 20 days (4 weeks) for express orders now, which is pretty pathetic.

My 1804 gold just happened to have been received for express on Sept 14. It is also still in "Order Entry".

While I do like the PCGS 250th label and have used it exclusively on all my semiquincentennial coins, the combination of the CACG gray, green bean and gold is very nice.
