[GRADE REVEALED] GTG - 1928 Standing Liberty Quarter

My first SLQ! I haven’t shown this on the forums that much for whatever reason so I thought I’d do a GTG on it. Good luck!

Grade will be revealed after 24 hours or 25 guesses, whichever comes first.

    Looks like AU55 to me, but would not be shocked at all for AU58.

    By the way I absolutely adore the SLQ series.

    I was going with AU55 too yet with so many already guessing that, I'll go with AU53.

    MS62. My first thought was AU58, but gonna go against the crowd and say the head and leg are weak strike.

    Regardless of what the assigned grade is, the pictures indicate wear, not strike weakness, on Liberty’s legs.

    1. As @MFeld says above, leg is AU all day long imho if I’m seeing correctly through the pics.

    58 and attractive, although there is something going on on the obverse surfaces in the field below/beside TY and along the right side of the drapery ... and the reverse stain at ICA is slightly unfortunate.

    I would have guessed AU58 yet so many others already did (including cougar) so I went with a grade I deep down didn't believe in.

    When I was a teenager I'd look (not necessarily 'grade') the 1917 type 1's the same way.

    This is one of my favorite kind of days. I spend 10 minutes looking at an amazing coin; only to find another and another etc. Congrats @Goob, and @SilverDaddy , 1917-D (and S), type 1's are one of my all time favorite coins. Brings back some great memories, but mine were AU's rather than lofty Unc.'s. James
