Jesus Mateer has been god awful to start this game
Underwood might be better actually
OU seriously needs to consider a QB change at the half. Mateer has missed every throw so far and OUs defense has just spent a ton of the game on the field. Today he has been
Michigan still on top of Oklahoma in the 3rd quarter. The word I get is that all accumulated “bonus time” will be added, if needed, at the end of regulation play.
Aside to that crazy base bal gu: Who the heck is Jesus Mateer, the younger brother of John Mateer??

I accept and understand that the biggest schools play games against patsies every year and it really helps the programs at the smaller, less athletically accomplished schools. But enough already, it needs to be regulated somehow. Maybe restrict that to the first game of the season. Small schools could be afforded some economic help and the bigger schools could have what amounts to a pre-season game. Playing these kind of games 2-3 times during a season and after the first few games is ridiculous.
Every school does it, but look at the defending National Champion Indiana Hoosiers this season: their first three games are North Texas, Howard and Western Kentucky. Then they play two of the perennially weakest Big 10 teams before the fans even get to see a competitive game.
How is that good for College Football??

There's not much I don't like about Oregon. They are probably my favorite team after the Buckeyes. Great uniforms, an affable and really top HC in Dan Lanning, cool nickname, what's not to like?? But I think the pre-season hype was a bit over the top.

Only 5 minutes left for the Sooners, if they don't score on this drive they may not get another chance. They'll have to pray for those extra few seconds that get added to the clock.
Well, the Wolverines take over at their own 1 yard line. Can they score?? Can they kill the clock and hold off Oklahoma?? College football at it's finest!!!

Well what's the answer?
Schedule just top 25 teams against each other every week lol
Well Mateer decided he was going to lose that game on his own. Defense did its job and they have one of the best punters in the country.
Mateers going to get eaten alive this year and benched if he wants to keep playing like the worst QB in the country and cant make a trow. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt but Im out on him now

He is horribly inaccurate, this game is on the HC for not sitting him down
No excuses, he doesn't have that hand injury he is just not good
i don't know much, but this much i do know: no one knows pop tarts about any these teams
if there was one person on this planet who truly thought Michigan was going to win that game, i'd be honored to meet them and kiss their feet.
and then we have Oregon. perennials contenders for the chip. losing at half to a power 5 school that won 1 game last year, and lost by two touchdowns to Tulsa last week.
Hey, base bal gu, proof read and spell check should be your mantra. What exactly is a "trow" and how do you do it?? Are you trying to say "drop trow" in which case I'd remind you this is a PG site.
Looks like the next victim is Oregon unless they do some magic in the 4th quarter.
Just got a news flash: Oklahoma vs. Michigan is still live. After consulting post game the Officials added 3 seconds to the clock.

I really dont and havent liked Venables as a head coach. I think hes a great DC but theyve done a complete 180. They used to have Heisman QBs and a crap defense now they have an elite defense and crap QBs.
They have a 4 star back up. If Mateer plays like this and they wont bench him they need to go to the old triple option.
hey @galaxy27, they handle that "heat" just fine during summer practice. I mean, lately the daytime temp up here has been in the high 80's low 90's. If the team is concerned about the weather than they should play an indoor sport. What they are worried about, if anything, is the Texas d-line. Whatever, it should be a good game as the last two meetings have been. I think it will come down to which staff has worked out the best strategy and then the cat/mouse during the game between Sarkasian and Day. To that end, I don't know much about Texas, but Ohio State is showing up with a new OC and a new DC.

Ohio heat can be hard due to the humidity and as @coolstanley said, mid-high 90’s lately in central Ohio. But in all reality, players from everywhere do adjust to the heat and cold. We range here from -10 up to 95 pretty much every year.
Lived here all my life and it’s always been easier to cool off in summer than stay warm in winter. Cold does funny things.
As long as both teams stay hydrated I think they’ll be OK but the on-field heat will be brutal

Top 50 is a little rough but they lost and yea never should have been number 1
no, no
if you're considered to be a contender for the chip and you lose to a team that lost to Tulsa by two touchdowns the week before and won 1 game the previous season, you immediately fall to #51. maybe #76.
seriously though, it'll be interesting to see how far they free fall

that's just a mind-blowing loss
Its probably not as far as it should be. I do agree should be out of the rankings and Oak State has been trash, but Im guessing like mid or late teens at worst. I have a suspicion they might just give them Oklahomans spot
All the talk of 50 and 76 is just silly but it’s what College Football is all about. It’s getting better with the expanded playoff format but this is only game 2. The thought of a two loss season for most fans is failure so I get the Oregon criticism, but in the big picture it’s only one game.

Between the turnovers and running a reverse 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage on 4th and 1 and the dropped TD pass apparently Texas just want to shoot themselves in the foot all night. How stupid do you have to be to call the play when you need one yard
At this point just fire Stark he loses a ton of big games and has done this for years. Texas has given the game away. Arch hasnt been good but he did have have a TD pass dropped. RBs hold onto the ball one time. Theres way too much talent on that team to be playing like this

Not surprising Michigan Defense looking good, as they did last week against WM.

Oregon trainling by 10 but it's still the first half. Looks like Oklahoma has tied it and the game will be decided in the 4th quarter.

Ohio State vs Texas
Oklahoma vs Michigan --- 17-10 Michigan, is that an upset??!!??
Mississippi State vs Minnesota

Oddly the spread in the OU vs Michigan was only 5.5 but I'm pretty sure everyone was thinking OU was going to run them over
I didn't bet that game on the outcome I just bet OU over 21 points and I'm embarrassed to say so
Ok state is only up by 3 now vs Oregon.
Is Oklahoma's offense that bad, or is Michigan's defense that good?
Where will they now put Michigan in the top 25? LOL

very curious to see how the boys from Columbus handle this Texas climate
it's going to touch triple digits in Austin near kickoff

tremendous difference between high 80's and low 90's vs 100+
i've been out in it today -- it's insufferable
it will not be fun for anyone on that field, i assure you
Just last week it got up to 97 in Columbus.
