I ordered a bag and a roll. No issues.
No expectation of any profit, just a sentimental purchase. I'll put a few into circulation over time, hoping that someone will recognize the significance of the privy mark.
I fear that the saying "Never Forget 9/11/01" will one day suffer the same fate as "Remember the Maine" and "Remember Pearl Harbor". Time marches on - it's inevitable.

I dont buy rolls of anything, much less bags, especially (usually) clad. But - what the hey - its 40 bux (for 10 bux of money), I got that on me. I guess I get nostalgic, or whatever, about 9/11.Plan to use 1 as a ball marker when I go golfing (well, next season) - important pastime for me. Replaces the way too shiny ASE bullion I've been using for a few years on my annual golf trip. I'll keep a few more, and give away some to family and/or 1st responders (my niece's hubby is an NJ cop - so was my dad who passed almost 2 years ago, I'll keep 1 by his flag I have).

Are any of these half dollars, and also the regular 2026 half dollars, ever going to actually be seen in circulation? It's now almost mid September, and no one seems to have actually seen any 2026 half dollars in circulation.

I am a retired First Responder. I was on duty that day. I distinctly remember being advised of the first plane that hit the North Tower; then the South Tower. Next, our International Airport shut down to all traffic. After that, pretty much twilight zone surreal time took over as news of the Pentagon and the crash in Pennsylvania rolled in.
I remember several co-workers took time off and started driving halfway across the country to help rescue, dig, whatever they could do. It was and remains a time to Never Forget.
Boom...we win.

As mentioned above, the regular 2026 halfs were released foe circulation and some people have been able to get rolls or boxes through their bank.
I doubt the 9/11 halfs will be released that way. They are being struck to demand based on the stated ordering window.
Atleast a few of us will be releasing some into the wild.

I kept getting the message that there was a problem with my payment method, so I tried multiple credit cards as well as PayPal. Nothing worked so I gave up - but then noticed multiple pending charges and some PayPal emails...so who knows how many of these I actually ordered. Nothing showing up in order history and still have the original 2 items in my bag...

Six hours after release. ATS is 80449 for Rolls and 89838 for Bags.
Sold 50 rolls and 20 bags in the last five minutes I was looking at this.
So they sold almost 20,000 rolls and 10,000 bags today. Roughly 1,400,000 coins have been reserved and spoken for at this time.

So much so to warrant a 100% premium? No other numismatic circulating product commands such a premium for rolls over bags, do they? And, aren't the quantities offered far higher here (100K of each to start, with no published limit)?

Retail collectors are on a limited budget, and for many households the difference between a $40 purchase and a $100 purchase (plus shipping) is significant.
It’s the same reason why people buy a small jug of laundry detergent over a larger one, even though the larger one might cost much less per ounce and would be better for their finances over time.
In this case, the collector at least feels like they’re still getting to participate in what is a totally discretionary use of their funds. And, the proliferation of products, finishes, mintmarks and privies is also stretching people thin.
Then there’s storage. The bags are kind of big and bulky, and if you’re ever been on a bag subscription that you sort of ignored for a few shipments, they pile up quick and are a pain to move around.
For the halves, one could argue that the heavy coins are more likely to cause damage in the bags, but I suspect most of the damage happens when they’re flying off the presses into the big bins.
FWIW, some of the coins in my DJT dollar rolls were really beat up and probably in MS61 or 62 territory, although most were probably 63-65. I haven’t received the bags yet, so cannot offer a direct comparison.

I guess this makes sense. Because, you are correct.
Lots of people do lots of things that don't really make economic sense. Participating in those unregulated mystery boxes, or getting sucked into overpaying for crap on Whatnot being prominent examples.
So you are right. If people want to play, and $100 is a stretch, $40 is an entry point, even at 2x the per coin price. I honestly had not considered that.
I thought maybe the coins were in a lot better shape in the rolls, although I didn't really understand how. And then, as I said, the premiums here are a lot higher than normal. As is the mintage.

I have been dealing with this for weeks now. Tried all the details in 'wallet' to make sure there are no incongruencies and I phoned customer service to try to subscribe to a set (before it went unavailable) and even they got the fail message. So my request to fix my account was escalated (3 -4 days ago- NO response yet). My credit card statements online would show the purchase successfully made but followed by an immediate US Mint refund. No security notifications were generated.
Never had this problem. I even tried deleting all cards and repopulating, checking all details and mailing address/billing address congruencies.I even opened a new account for a family member and same problem just now trying to buy the 9/11 coins !!
edit: phoned the card company. No problem on their side. Charge went through. US Mint reversed the charge! Casino Idiots !!Thanks

I bought a few bags to spend some, have some for customers and local coin clubs. And, given that the Mint has added chase coins to a few offerings so far this year, I figure there's a chance there will be something extra in these.
They announce this coin on 9/8 late in the evening, take pre-orders on 9/10... I'm thinking it's possible that they strike a bunch of these tomorrow, on 9/11 with an extra mark or slightly different privy... maybe the "Always Remember" instead of the "Never Forget" privy.
They struck the special Trump SemiQ Dollars on July 4th. Wouldn't surprise me if they do special strikes on September 11 for these. Just a guess or just a hope maybe

The only possible reason for these to not be selling better has to be people's belief that 100K is not a limit, since they are publishing "No Limit."
Otherwise, why would 100K 2 roll sets of the regular coin be sold out, while only a little over 26K of these, with a far lower mintage, be sold in the first 24 hours, with no HHL?
They are actually playing themselves here, since 100K likely is the limit. If they published it, they'd likely have sold out by now. Instead, they might never hit it during the ordering window.

I wondered about that, too. I'm guessing it was for the benefit of non-collectors who are seeing the news reports about them and might be inclined to buy some. I actually think these might be popular with some people who don't normally buy coins.
