Western Michigan got paid 1.5 million for that game so I agree they cant really complain but should be. That secret time clock is complete horse crap. At least MLB and soccer are transparent with the pitch challenges and VAR even though VAR kinda sucks too. The lack of transparency is what has every so mad. He had his shot didnt even throw it in the end zone and got another one.
I do like that NIL is more transparent now and that players can transfer like coaches can but crap like this is what will do damage to the sport. id really like too see college and the NFL adapt the USFL model wher ethe replay booth is on camera on the replay to prevent crap like that

The on-field clock is real game time but it seems it is synchronized with the off-field clock, which is actually official. I’m sure there are multiple times during any NFL/NCAA game where the “clocks” aren’t the same, aren’t in synch with each other. How many times have you heard the Referee say “Please reset the game clock to……” for one reason or another??

but i'd like to present you with a hypothetical scenario.
let's say the roles were reversed. Western Michigan is driving at the end of that game. down 5, their QB uncorks a rainbow on the last play of the game. the clock strikes 0:00 before the ball ever touches a player. a quarter of the big house ends up on the field.
now close your eyes and try to imagine a universe where the Big 10 replay center contacts the zebras and all of a sudden it comes to light that Western Michigan has another crack from near the 50 because a second has been added to the game clock out of nowhere. imagine the pandemonium. imagine the number of dead carcasses that would be strewn all over the field when Western Michigan converted on a second hail mary attempt. try to imagine that ever happening in a quadrillion years with a biased Big 10 replay crew.
know why you have to imagine those things? because this is percent chance of that ever playing out in the exact same manner.
hopefully you now understand why my gears are grinding. flip the script and equity would be nowhere to be found. why that would be, i'll let you decide for yourself.
if you think everything was on the up and up and are content with how the ending of that game was handled, again, your prerogative. i choose to look at it through a different prism. and for the record, i didn't have a penny on that game. i'm just a hardcore proponent of transparency and integrity, and when sports or any other walk of life attempts to compromise that and play me for a fool in the process, i have to douse myself with cold water to put out the flame. this is just my opinion, but i think you are grossly underestimating the influential role that beaucoup bucks played. from what happened at the end of that game to what's been taking place after, my spidey sense is tingling something fierce.
I wonder if the NCAA was proactive right after the ending in telling the WM players, coaches on up the ranks to keep quiet if you want paid for the game. Maybe added on a little hush money. Just speculating but it would explain the deafening silence from WM that galaxy mentioned.

There’s a video of the replay showing the time code and the guy touching the ball with 00:01. A video from a cell phone. No one believes it still. The hate for Michigan is tasty.
