This might be a fairly recent repeat for me in this thread (I don't remember). But I have a smallish collection so some of the stuff does get recycled occasionally.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
This is the only Oregon Trail half I have owned to date. You might say the price was right- I dug it while metal detecting a vacant lot in an old neighborhood in a small North Georgia town. The signal indicated a shallow quarter. I was gobsmacked when that popped out of the dirt! The old house that formerly occupied that lot had reportedly burned down in the 1950s.

I'm not sure how we went from a 1983 LA Olympics medal to a 1900 General Lafayette commemorative dollar. Is there some historical connection here?

Actually, I did not see the correlation. I had just thought I did. It was a long day and I think I was looking at both of his images when I saw the correlation lol.
