That's correct, according to the Mint.

Not everyone wants 100 coins. If there were a million coin bag available at $1.25/unit, would you buy that one?

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

Not when you can get the 140,000 coin bag for around $1.09/each :+1:

The product description on the mint's website says:

Special offering: 250,000 Semiquincentennial President Donald J. Trump $1 Coins with a special-issue “July 4th” privy mark have been randomly included in the Rolls & Bags. These coins were struck on July 4th.

If, and that's a huge if, the privy coins are only in the rolls and bags and not the ballistic bags and possible rolls offered to banks, then there is nearly a 3% chance of a coin having a privy mark. Or, about 3 coins per bag of 100.

By the way, I do not see the July 4th dollar coin privies as simply concocted collectables. They were struck on July 4th so the privy represents the provenance.

I'm in for the HHL on both, and that was before I heard about the potential July 4th Privy being mixed in... Giddyup...

No. But I would buy the million coin bag at 95 cents/unit.

If that's true, it makes for an interesting possible treasure hunt that is only possible with those bags/rolls. So, what will be the secondary market value of a privy for a dollar coin when virtually no one collects dollar coins???

    Good question

The math works out to about 1 privy per 33 coins, so chances are each roll has one privy and each bag has three privy coins.

I know it's usually two of each, bags and rolls, but it is worded a bit differently this time.

    Two of each, I assume.

It read a bit differently on the main page, but when I break it down to an individual item, if does sound like normal, two of each.

presales of the privy variants going for no less than $400 on the bay and as high as maybe $600+ [best offer sales so who knows]

does $400 'make sense' for lack of a better term for a population of 250,000? thats a total population value exceeding $100,000,000 🤔

  • Options

Well dang. I’ve struck out hunting for 4th of July quarters. Finally found about $400 worth of them today and no privy coins yet. May have to take a chance on a couple bags.

What makes these coins really cool is the ones with the privy mark were actually struck on the Fourth of July which is the exact date we celebrate America's 250th birthday.
Are there any other regular issue US coins where we know the exact day that the coin was produced?

What will be worth more? An unopened roll with a chance of a 7/4 privy or an opened/searched roll?

Would these be good candidates for dollar Hobo coins?

Will be interesting to track thanks to the timestamps on the boxes.

ATS is 128,665 on the rolls and 36,765 on the bags....so there's a lot of timestamps. I think we go back-order at around 75,000 on the rolls

Not for a dollar coin. The collecting base isn't that high for dollar coins, NORMALLY. However, this one has other interest, probably. So...your guess is as good as mine

I never ordered a bag. I assume there is some seal so that you cannot just open and search them, and then return?

I had no interest in these, but with the chance to get one or 2 with a privy, I'll take a ride to the mint today.

With 250k of the privy coins, and with the huge assumption they are fairly evenly distributed, these shouldn't be too hard to find in the bags/rolls. And all of them are going out to collectors in these rolls/bags, all can and will be found quickly unlike with the privy quarter distribution. I wouldn't expect prices of them to be anywhere near as high as the July 4th privy quarters and we saw those go from several hundred dollars initially to around a hundred or two pretty quickly. These should be under $100 each for sure. I'm still trying to order some as I want the coins, if I get a July 4th coin then it's just a nice bonus. Very cool they say they were actually struck on July 4, 2026.

While that is likely true, this coin could well have a much wider non-collector interest. I can safely say that I have no idea whether these will be $1 coins, $25 coins, $100 coins or (currently) $500 coins.

Folks, it's time to stop assuming. I personally contacted the USM and was told the Trump dollars are not just being distributed as numismatic products. They are also being distributed through the Fed and the banks, so the mintage will be much more than the 8.75 million going on sale today. And of course finding a privy mark one will be much harder.

Not if the privy coins are only available through these bags and rolls as the Mint site suggests.

  • Options

After the bags and rolls sell out the mint will formally announce that the privy’s are actually distributed thru the circulating coins also. It’s not a lie just an omission .

The listing says the 250k are in the rolls and bags being sold today. Will that be true? We’ll find out soon enough I guess.

just buy it if you like it. the only thing that will be worth money will be the privy coin anyways.

not true - the other coins are worth $1 🥸

    Already a 27 min wait!

    I'll come up with something.
  • Options

There would be about 107,000 inserted into 150,000 rolls and 143,000 inserted into 50,000 bags.

So two in every three rolls, and almost three in ever bag.

The plain wording on the site is that 250,000 coins have been randomly included in the rolls and bags. They didn't add the word ONLY, but they shouldn't need to either. Doesn't say that a portion of the 250k or some of the 250k...
