Brian Vermillion of Vermillion Enterprises down in FL said this morning that he is getting out of the junk market entirely. That will be a nice chew toy for some of you lolz.

So Blitz was right? Chomp chomp.

    .

    NO.
You and "Blitz" are wrong (as usual).

What Vermillion Enterprises actually stated is that they "dumped" (shipped) their entire inventory of 90% "junk" coin the other day. But they are still buying it and selling what they have purchased in the last day or two. Their current price for 90%
"junk" silver coin is: buy at spot minus $5 | sell at spot minus $2. Using the standard formula, that buy price would be ($65 - $5) * 0.715 = $42.90 per dollar face value.

If you don't believe me, you can watch their latest video from today (18 August 2026):

    .

That is exactly what you wrote the last time Vermillion Enterprises was discussed on this forum.
You have heard of them before.
You just don't want to admit that there is always a two-way market in silver, at the right price.

    .

Yeah, there's a market for the gutter, buy over spot and sell under spot (if they want it at all). What a great investment. lol If I heard of him before I certainly don't recall. Looks like another minnow trying to drum up his youtube view count. Certainly not a playa. THKS!

You and your youtube vermillion enterprises sounds like a broken record. Thanks, but the majority of the public does not live in FL. By the time anyone pays to ship to them they would be well under 45x. I am in coin shops weekly and I have a rather large position in coins both numismatic and bullion. I have a excellent feel for what the market is currently paying. Perhaps it's youtube you that is clueless. Got anyone else other than vermillion "supposedly" paying over 45x? Didn't think so. THKS!

Of course a dealer will have a buy/sell spread. But anyone can easily find some 90% silver at less than melt, not over melt.
I just posted their numbers: buy at -$5, sell at -$2.

Brian Vermillion is well known in the biz. You are a petrified stump lolzz
Pretty hilarious in you labeling him "small time" when you are a scared little puppy dog and never name the "shops" you supposedly visit with tales of market conditions. Which were all surely MADE UP. Remember the gibberish you spewed about wheeling in a monster box of ASE's unannounced into one of these fake shops and couldn't make a deal? Then generalizing the market on that FAKE STORY hahahahhahaha

Here is some edgeamacation for you, Sir Stump.

Brian Vermillion has built a strong national reputation for transparent pricing, tight margins, and his willingness to ship precious metals nationwide. Long-distance clients frequently document driving several hours to his storefront to trade with him personally due to his highly competitive spot-price payouts.

You can't sell 1 oz. gold for more than spot at retail right now. Does that mean that refiners don't want it? There's about a 3.5% spread between the buy and sell for 1 oz. physical gold. That's a bit higher than normal, which reflects the market's volatility.

Silver has a wider buy-sell spread right now than gold - which is more a reflection of the price volatility at this moment, but the refining bottleneck is also a factor. When both metals are moving up as they are right now, silver moves about twice the percentage as gold - in both directions.

Would I buy physical silver now with any free cash? In the short-to-medium timeframe, silver is going up. In the longer term, silver is going way up. Don't say that I never told you so.

From what I am hearing, Silver has always been the poor step child to gold. The amount of silver deliverable compared to what's being demanded has been out of whack for a long time. In other words, silver has got a lot of upside. But its volatile.

Yeah, the nobody buying garbage is well, exactly that. Garbage. Those saying that are old farts who still think its 1985 and the only place to get your PM's was at a B&M. Obviously the ratio is significantly tilted toward those selling but their are PLENTY of buyers around. Watch any PM stream on Whatnot, eBay live, etc. to see for yourself. Many buyers just don't visit the B&M anymore unless they are dumping.

And I'd like to see a picture of these silver dollars that people aren't buying now at wholesale levels.

And yet I still sold a sterling silver and turquoise bracelet today for $150.
Total weight was just over an ounce, it was marked TAXCO Mexico so that configuration helped the sale.

It doesn't look good when your paper silver & gold losses all pile up in a single day, does it? Fooling yourself about paper silver pricing really doesn't make you any money blitzie. How's that trigger finger?

I forgot to TTT this thread on Friday. Some skeptics dissuade all involvement.

Not moving locally, no buyers (and I sell at spot to spot minus 1.00)

only thing that sells is silver eagles, and even then, few at a time

silver dollars were selling a few weeks ago, but now, nothing with price rise, I can even get buyers to pay what wholesalers are paying

    .

What was your price "a few weeks ago", compared to now, for ordinary circulated Morgan & Peace Dollars ?
    What grade ?

    Any idea why ?

Were they buying 7 months ago as silver approached $120 ?

    .

I would also like to know where is this shop ? I suspect it is in a rural area, which would explain a lot.

What do you mean? What would it explain? Is silver worth more or less in a rural area?

I'm rural. Just had some forestry mulching done. At payment I asked if cash was ok or if he might be interested in 90% Gutter junk. Surprisingly he knew what I was talking about, said he dumped his sometime ago but wasn't interested at these prices. He opted for the $$$$. Just a couple of ole rural bubbas. Not sure if it helps answer your original question to Carrs. RGDS!

Maybe, seems silver was worth less.

    BTW--love that attachment.

Yup. The floor has to be around here, somewhere. Blitzdude can find the forest floor easy enough.

Not sure about the forest floor but we did uncover the old washed-out pond circa 1964. Time to bring in the excavator and bring it back to life. THKS!

And then I guess there really is the forest floor. THKS!
