Has anybody lost a package during Great Collections shipping?

I'm wondering what I can do about losing a package during the shipping of an auction win package from Great Collections. I won a coin 2 weeks ago ( Mint Error 2000 Lincoln Cent Broadstruck Out of Collar PCGS MS-63 RD - GC Item ID:
2205522) and the USPS tracking still shows to this day and time:
Tracking Number: 9300120845500058725943

I emailed them 2 weeks ago with NO reply, then I called last week and was told by a lady that they (GC) would ask the USPS to track the package and they would email me the results but I still have heard nothing. So that's 2 weeks of no results. I know it's "Only" around $60 but I'm on Social Security and $60 is kind of a big deal to me..................
Please, can anybody give me some information on what to do?

The "USPS Awaiting Item" status means that GC hasn't actually mailed it yet (unless they mailed it without it being scanned).
Also, I'm not sure you should display the tracking number here. I'm not sure but I think it might be possible for an unscrupulous person to do a redirect of the package.
.
I have no idea - that's why I'm asking. The woman I talked to claims they mailed it and it was in the USPS - but I told her the tracking shows differently. She also said she'd email me and never did - so...........that's why I was asking if anybody else went through the same thing? And I posted the tracking number to show I was not lying.

Unfortunately, I had one lost in the mail recently as well, but mine did show on tracking as being picked up by USPS I believe... but then nothing else on tracking and never delivered to me. After a few weeks, I contacted Great Collections, they got back to me within 24 hours. Waited a little longer to see if it showed up, I think the policy was after 30 days GC would consider it lost. Once that time passed, was promptly refunded. Very easy.

@ianrussell is the owner of GC and is a forum member here. Maybe he can look into it on Monday.

I had a package, last week, that tracking stated, "delivered and placed in a PO locker"...I never got it, assuming the PO clerk placed the key in the wrong box.
I’d call GC again and tell them the same thing you posted here.

I hope you get the coin you ordered, delays happen.
I've made about 12 purchases through GC and have had zero issues on receiving or sending packages.

I would bet the problem boils down to USPS issues and not GC issues……but GC will still make you whole if it comes down to it.
I think both of the lost packages I’ve had to eat over the years have been due to USPS never scanning the item at the initial sending location. So it appears to the buyer as though I just printed a label and then did nothing, when in reality the packages were dropped off in bulk at the PO.
Now I stand in line so I can watch the person behind the counter scan my shipments. They’ll often encourage me to just use their unattended “drop off counter” where you basically just toss your package in the bin and I always politely decline. Burn me once…..
I have ordered maybe 50 items from GC and never had an issue. That said, if you purchased the item with a credit card, you could always dispute the charge through the credit card company - but I would try again with GC. It is also possible the package is in USPS limbo and will suddenly appear at your doorstep -- that happened to me with something else about a week ago.

I definetly would not do a charge back against GC.
As said they will work with you and make you whole.
I am sure they would frown on a charge back and it might not bod well with GC in the future.

I have received many packages from GC, normally a flawless process. In early June this year I won a couple coins and they were shipped as normal. The package tracking showed a stop in Seattle and nothing after that. a month of no updates and still showing Seattle, I contacted GC by replying to GC's last email on that coin. I had a prompt response. I was told that they would reimburse me, I just needed to sign the lost package form. A couple weeks later and still no package movement, I signed the form and sent it in. I was promptly reimbursed the cost of the lost package. I couldn't suggest any changes that would have made my experience any better.
Then a couple days later, the package was delivered intact and safe, it just took almost two months to arrive. It was definitely a USPS delay issue. I contacted GC and told them I now owed them money and they were able to reclaim their refund from my account. All is good, I was happy to receive my coins.
I'm sure GC will take care of you. Two weeks in shipping is nothing and probably too soon to start a refund process. Maybe a little more patience and things will work out.
I have received dozens of coins from GC and never had an issue with a lost shipment.
Their customer service is outstanding, I am sure they will resolve this for you. Don't worry about it.
Happened to me back in April - 30 day wait period and GC sent refund. Coin still has not shown up, probably never will...

I use my direct bank account for payment. I too have bought from GC for years and this is the first time anything like this has happened! I was just wondering what to do - Thank you for your replies!

Hi Steven, sorry that there was an issue with this package - rest assured every shipment we send is fully insured (even though, the package is more important than the insurance coverage). Can you please PM me your email address (or email ian@greatcollections.com), so we can look into this? I just got to Pittsburgh, but checking email from the show.

I had the same thing happen to me a couple weeks ago. I paid for the coin, and then it didn't show up when it should've. I went to the USPS website, and it said "USPS Awaiting Item". I emailed GC about it, and didn't get a reply. However, within a day or two, the item suddenly showed up on USPS tracking as arriving in my local PO; I got it the next day. So, USPS never scanned the item until it got to my local PO in Texas.
Steve
Looks like USPS did not scan the item when it arrived at the origin facility. It might show up later. If there is no scan and it is lost, I don't think the insurance will pay for it, but since it is only $60, I am sure GC will eat the loss. Not sure if GC will take the loss if the package is worth $60K.
.
Well it's been 2 weeks with no change of the USPS tracking...............

Just to mention 90% of my packages from GC are delivered by the USPS on the Thursday after the Sunday auction. I pay promptly that Sunday night after the auctions with my bank account. The other 10 % of the time show up no later than the following Monday. Like I said - this is 2 weeks with no change in the shipping status! I even looked again right now and......................
