Checked a coin off the bucket list!
I have wanted a 3-legged buffalo nickel in my collection for some time. Its a commonly known variety and generally available at most shows and auctioned off many times per year. Just had to find the right one for the budget. I settled for this one at I felt it was a good match for the grade/strike I was looking for with just a touch of color! Here's a couple of images to compare. Looking forward to seeing it in hand.

Nice coin. Always worth the wait to find the right piece. Enjoy.
Nice pickup, Doc!
I like that old album toning.
Awesome! Based upon my Buffalo nickel grading skills, this is a great AU55-MS65 coin 🙂
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Nice coin. When I see a post like this, I always wonder if Phil took both images.

Hey Jason, that's one great example. I've never owned one, but they always catch my eye when I see one at a show. I've pondered starting a Buff collection for a few years now. I'm trying to resist the urge, and posts like this don't help!
Beautiful coin!

Great strike, great color ... can't tell if it's a 58 or a 62/3 (leaning towards Unc), but whichever, it appears the patience was worth the wait. Absolutely lovely example!

Lovely coin. Congrats!!!
👍
I recently picked up my bucket list coin, 1909-S VDB. This was the holy grail of Lincoln cent for my friends and myself when we searched our parents pennies back in the 60’s. We lived near Chicago we knew we would never find one so we saved every single “S” mint cent we found.
MS62 per PCGS. Beautiful color!

Great looking coin! Must feel good to check that box.
Nice!
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
Now, that's a great-looking coin! MS 62 is my favorite TPG grade.Typically, one gets a lot of coin for the money with 62 and this piece is no exception to that rule.

I don't have one in front of me. . . anyone have the value of the OP's coin in the 2027 Red Book?
The value of this hobby is the hobby, not the value.
Congratulations, nice Newp!

Nice choice!
Love it!
About $2950 + (0.5) * (6000-2950) = $4475 for MS 62 or select uncirculated. This piece has a short scratch on the left rear leg along with a tiny mark on the Indian's cheek that could have prevented it from getting MS-63 or choice uncirculated designation. PCGS' estimated value is $4250 so this is a case where the extrapolated Red Book price I derived and PCGS price are very close. It appears that erwindoc did indeed get a lot of coin for his money.

Great addition, Doc. A beauty. Worth the wait.

Gorgeous coin. Congratulations on your purchase.
I thought with the combination of the strike and surfaces, it was very nice for the MS62 grade. I would have loved to have a MS64 or better but the prices go way up and I still have kids to help put through college!
