Oh great, another thread about these.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
What an ugly coin.
Yes, but is it uglier than the SBA Dollar?

the most poorly designed 'coin' ive ever seen
it's giving strong token vibes
this 'coin' also appears to celebrate 250 yrs of this country's history in the same way a coin featuring a ham sandwich celebrates aviation heros
These seem to be very popular........
.
Will there be an Enhanced Hair version?
I actually may be interested in this as a gag gift if the roll was packaged inside of a toy sized catering truck.
Hard pass. What an absolute waste of taxpayer dollars. Where's the doge coin people when we need em? THKS!
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

Wooooha! Did someone just say it's officially "TACO™" Tuesday????
Retiring at 55, what day is today?
Thr other recent thread about this remained civil but this one is deteriorating fast.
Doesn’t the government make a net profit off them from both seigniorage and the high sales markup?
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
How is this a "waste of taxpayer dollars"?
Between the high premiums for the rolls and bags and the seigniorage earned on every coin struck, this is a money maker for the taxpayers.
That’s a bold statement given how many “clip art commemoratives” the Mint has produced, along with the obverses of the regular Presidential dollar coins being at least equally unattractive.
The reverse uses the Presidential seal as adapted from the Kennedy half dollar. That’s a classic design that may look good at the dimensions of the dollar coin. The NH AI dollar looks way more like a token than this coin.
And I think a better analogy would be to feature a modern, currently living aviator on the coin (Captain Sullenberger, for ex.) rather than a ham sandwich.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
The color is nearly lifelike.
Seigniorage

Yes, they do.

The Government needs to make a whole lot of money, but it still won’t cover the billions currently being wasted.
I'm gonna pass on the P.T. Trump coins for now. I wish he would've made them use a design with him showing a bit of a sly smile pose instead of that foolish constipated face one. Whatever...I'm sure I'll add one in the long run to my collection and place it in the section I keep oddities and vanity coins. I wonder what the consensus will be five years from now?

This is turning into a classic weekend (only) thread.
Let's see what happens Monday morning when the adults return to work.

Will out hosts even grade these? They seem to erase any thread about the coin.
Have they already hinted at their business plan for these and will not even grade them?

That is just ridiculous to even suggest that. Ever see the thousands of coins in PCGS holders with Trump labels?
Of course they will be graded by PCGS as a U.S. Dollar coin. And they will be grading them by the thousands!

I asked because I find it interesting that any discussion about the item itself is immediately shut down - are we not allowed to talk about this coin as we are about any other coin the US Mint sells?

the previous threads spiraled out of control down a politics abyss
we're not supposed to share political feelings.
feel lucky what little has been shared here hasn't shut this one down
There could have been another great cereal promotion...such a missed opportunity.
That all Depends on your point of view.
Hmmm, Christmas presents 🎁 😝
Back up the dump truck and take them to the scrap yard to be melted.
I wish instead of closing these threads pcgs would instead just ban the few people who can’t seem to control their emotions.
Notice many of them never post.
If a member breaks a forum rule they are warned of their offense.
The member is then banned for a specified period of time for repeated offenses and if the member continues to violate forum rules they risk a permanent ban.
A member who is banned will have bars put on their pic while serving their time.

a member in the forum slammer has bars put on with account restrictions, but they are allowed to continue posting
the gray generic outline headshot is a banned member who can't even log on
Correct. People who have to jump in and stir the political pot whenever they see something posted they don’t like should be banned. That includes you and several others. Everyone knows who you all are.
Wow
How many threads do we need about this man and his depictions on coins? There have been several now.
