I have several mint sets from the 50s with a Franklin half dollar, quarter, dime, nickel, and penny. They are still in the cardboard holder the treasury mailed them in to my father. The coins are not shiny, some have toning, and some have brown edging. Are they still of value? Would collectors be interested?

Generally speaking, you can check eBay sold listings for the value of items like these.
If the toning is so extreme as to be unattractive or the coins are verging on environmentally damaged, that may reduce their value. If that is your concern, you may post photos of the coins for opinions.
Yes, the mint sets from the 1950's can be quite valuable, especially with nice toning. Do not try to remove the toning!

These were issued a double sets with two coins for each denomination. It appears that these sets have divided in half. That lowers the value. The saving grace is that there were some very nice coins in these sets, but then it gets complicated.
These coins bring high prices when they are in certification holders, like PCGS, with high grades like MS-66 or higher. It takes a first class grader to spot the pieces which are worth the grading fee and shipping.
I think that the price is greatly reduced because it is only half of an original set. Most likely priced as Unc coins

@Jssk4449, as has been stated, it looks like you have half the set, but it does look totally original with that toning.
Do not clean any of those coins as it will diminish their value.

Do you have the albums to sort through to repopulate the missing coins? A full set would add greatly to their value. The 1953 set you’re in possession of, should contain the 3 cardboard sleeves with 10 coins each as these are double coin sets and a manila envelope that they all came in. Would not be a complete set if any of these components are missing.
