2026 Mint issued Morgan & Peace Dollar set

I emailed the mint asking about the finish, and got this reply: To commemorate the Semiquincentennial of our Nation’s founding, the Morgan & Peace Silver Dollars Two-Coin Set will be proof instead of reverse-proof, the individual Morgan & Peace Silver Dollars will be reverse-proof, and the uncirculated coins will have an enhanced-uncirculated finish.

Yeah. I can't argue with you on that. 125K EU ASEs flew off the shelf, so it's possible that 160K could be good, if it's something they never did before. After all, they DID sell 150-160K of the RPs.

But, if it's the diamond finish, some love it while others think it's too busy and hate it. Also, they are forcing people to buy two coins rather than one, and at a premium to what they charged for the EU. And then, Morgan and Peace are just not as popular as ASE.

So, again, I can't argue, although I can state a case that buying it might not be setting money on fire. Have you seen the ATS for the subscription? They ARE almost all gone right now, and will surely be all gone once people notice that.

It's a price point issue as much as a mintage issue. $125 per coin would be a huge numismatic premium ($50 intrinsic) but represent a $60 drop from issue price.

Yeah. But that's now the going price. ~$170 per coin.

This is a premium to that of ~$20 per coin. Not crazy with a mintage of 160K, assuming there is demand.

We know there wouldn't be for a regular finish, and this might end up being much ado about nothing. OTOH, 160K for a one and done finish at ~$190 per coin could end up being a winner.

I don't feel strongly about this one way or the other. But, if they sell out the subscriptions, and the ABPP take a chunk, leaving less than 50K for sale at release, you could see a flip. Stranger things have happened lately.

My point was more that they won't have legs at that number and mintage. So, if you want one, wait. There's no rush to get one at issue price and any very short term flip is miniscule.
