My triplet is a three some of California Fractional Gold coins, pre 1857 and octagonal shape. I was attracted to them because I couldn't believe the small size made then actually useful as circulating coinage. I made a special "Rolodex" coin box to display them. (The pennies illustrate the actual coin size to the non-collector.) I am looking to collect the flying eagle triplet next and building a different "Rolodex" display box for those three.

While there was a Grant commemorative $1 coin, the only regular production gold coinage minted by the US Mint dated 1922 was the Saint Gaudens Double Eagle. I am adding the 1922 $10 and $20 gold certificates to round out the trio.
