I see posts of people finding 4th of July privy quarters on the East coast. Are we seeing any west of the Mississippi? Did you get yours in change or roll hunting?

There are numerous threads already about this coin. Yes and look for P mint mark boxes with NF String rolls and no one has posted saying they got one in change. CRH only.
My bank has discontinued allowing customers to order boxes of coins. They don't want to deal with the coins that are returned to them after the rolls have been searched. It would be a crap shoot anyway since very seldom did I get boxes of all newly minted coins to search.
If a picture wasn't going very well I'd put a puppy dog in it, always a mongrel, you know, never one of the full bred puppies. And then I'd put a bandage on its foot... I liked it when I did it, but now I'm sick of it.

Just hit my facebook feed:
Thanks! I thought I was pretty diligent reading the threads but must have missed one. Much appreciated.
All good. Please post results if you find any!
Did you FB comment about your opinion that he is wasting his money on "clad trash" and he should wait until the price drops to what your "Crystal Ball says $15 to $25 raw on this 250,000 coin issue."
I am confused as to why you continue to post comments on here about a coin you consider clad trash.
I'm in California, and I've found zero of any of the sesquibicenntenial coins. Every time I'm at the bank and ask about these coins, the teller gives me a blank look and tells me they have no idea what they are.
Same on the right side of the us
I bought 3 $500 dollar boxes in Michigan. One was all Denver 2026 quarters, No privy marked ones. The other 2 boxes were all older quarters.
To be fair to banks, they're not coin shops and bank tellers aren't coin dealers. Does the checkout clerk at the market know there's a new Wheaties box out this week?
No I do not do coins on the book of faces. But I look at maybe 5 pretty pix a week on the site and then their algo's feed me more.
Clad trash is something I've used since silver was removed from circulation & also I embrace basless metal.
You are the 1st person to let me know they are offended. Sorry as it was not my goal.
Have you dropped a stack of Benjamins on your 250k 25c ? Caught that falling knife yet ? I hope you wait as in future you will be able to buy a few for todays cherry pick'd sticker price of one. Even $100 bill man is paying too much. My opinion.
It may surprise you but IF USMINT includes one of these treasure hunt quar†ers in my 3 incoming orders I will keep it as I do not regift presents. Over the decades I have seen new issue coinage start way high due to the FOMOs and drop below their purchase price for years or for some a lifetime.
Happy Hunting !
Apology accepted and thank you for explaining your opinion.
I suggest we agree to disagree on the long term value of this coin and wait for the future to determine it's resale value.
I hope both of us live many more years to see the outcome!
I won't see a SemiQ quarter in Hawaii until, oh, around 2030.

@MasonG: I wasn't implying tellers were stupid, just that if they had seen them already, they would've known what they are.
I didn't think you were. Collectors tend to be clued into stuff like this (new coin designs) and I was just pointing out that banks and their employees, while they do handle coins, are not necessarily aware of things like that.
None in AZ so far...

I haven't seen or heard of any in Ut or Co.
I think it's pretty cool that the Mint Director gave each mint employee two of these coins with a nice letter! 👍 👍
A fellow bought a sealed box of quarters and told me nearly half the rolls were circulated statehood and national park quarters. The rest were the new Declaration of Independence quarters , many with just a P mint mark. Many more were privy marked lacking any mint mark.
He asked me to list some on eBay. So I have. No spam intended. Now, after 25 years of selling, plus having power seller status…,blah, blah, blah…I get an email from eBay telling me because of suspicious activity, they’ll be holding my money for an extra 3 days after items are delivered.
He scored several hundred at a small town bank in Nebraska along the I-80 corridor . This created suspicious activity for eBay

For those of you lucky enough to live in or be close enough to drive to banks located in one of these cities good luck!!!
Look at where the sellers on Ebay are located and you will find a very strong correlation!
Here are all of the cities where the privy quarters should be appearing:
The Federal Reserve System has 12 main regional banks and 25 branch offices.
The complete directory of the branch sub-locations across the U.S. is organized by their parent Federal Reserve Bank
Boston (District 1): No branches.
New York (District 2): Buffalo Branch, NY.
Philadelphia (District 3): No branches.
Cleveland (District 4): Cincinnati, OH; Pittsburgh, PA.
Richmond (District 5): Baltimore, MD; Charlotte, NC.
Atlanta (District 6): Birmingham, AL; Jacksonville, FL; Miami, FL; Nashville, TN; New Orleans, LA.
Chicago (District 7): Detroit, MI.
St. Louis (District 8): Little Rock, AR; Louisville, KY; Memphis, TN.
Minneapolis (District 9): Helena, MT.
Kansas City (District 10): Denver, CO; Oklahoma City, OK; Omaha, NE.
Dallas (District 11): El Paso, TX; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX.
San Francisco (District 12): Los Angeles, CA; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA.
Plus, about 2,800 were handed out to mint employees. If mint employees are selling them, where do the mint employees live?...... Near mint facilities, Denver, Philly, West Point, DC, San Francisco.
Prices are dropping on the 'Bay .... on sale for just over $300 now . I'm still holding out !
Just Philly. None of the others
What do you mean, none of the others?
With 800+ in a single box... and many being found. Value is going to be minimal as most are going to be unc... so kind of like low mintage Commemoratives... they dont hold a big numismatic value...
Just a thought
It's not just finding them and the prices eventually going down. You're gonna wanta find 67's or 68's (maybe higher?) in circulation.
There were 264,000 1916-D Mercury dimes.
There are 250,000 of these. Holding out is fine, but so is holding out for a VG ‘16-D. Even if there is a Good one available for $600. They’re not commemorative. They’re regular issue, struck and released into commerce. Time will tell like the market and condition , what they’re worth ( or valued at ).

Equating a 16d merc to a privy mark on a quarter that is being minted at 25,000,000 is laughable. 250k clad varieties of the Declaration of Independence quarters which are being found by BU rolls after BU rolls is nothing more than a gimmick.
My comparison to Commemorative coin is because most of the ones that exist will be high grade and never see circulation.
C'est la vie. This just does not matter to me. If you want to pay 350 to 1500$ for these things please feel free to do so. I will not be joining you in this losing venture.
Jason
You needn’t join me. And how is it a losing venture ? I once got the same ‘tude here 21 years ago when I joined the forums, after having purchased a Cheerios Sacagawea in a blister pack on eBay for $4000. Heck, I lost a sister , a job and girlfriend since then. Then ….sold coin from $12,000. Lost my mom and one of my brothers since then, too. Life is a losing venture, brother. Enjoy !
I’ll have a guess the grade thread on the first hundred I sent in for grading.

Are you buying ?
Just asking
‘55 DDO Lincoln Cent was a gimmick. They were only found in filterless packs of Lucky Strike cigarettes. Imagine that.

I am always buying something. Ordered another couple hundred of ounces of silver today. I am selling them on eBay, starting them at $.99. ( for a man who found them at a bank). And I’m paying to have hundreds graded. Why ?
I did have a caller offer me 125 today for $380 each. I told him I was not a buyer at that l level because some people are getting them for less from me… and I’m tasked with enough.

I was questioning if you were buying the privy coin @ the going rate ?
No. As a dealer , I’m more concerned with helping the collector who got them at a local bank get them into the market at fair auction prices and/or to screen several for submission for tomorrow’s collectors or registry collectors.

K
So what’s the going rate if I start them at a dollar or a quarter ?
Told my guy to take “rare” out of title:

Then and now the most recent
