Pair of USA with something different in the middle.
The 1965 is earliest known example I know of for USA & thats why I archived it. Remains Unique last ten years I've had it unless someone knows otherwise ? Dealer bought from original owner who had it since 1965. I knew it was 7 years earlier than I recalled seeing in print or online or auction. Theres like 3 dozen of these from USMINT, but all newer.
These fun smaller dies struck onto larger coins or blanks has happened globally for over 200 years at real government mints & private mints that I own.

    Happy Saturday !

In the begining my first adventure into exonumia was with Landis & Rust.

    Later I added Moonlight Mint

For many years I have acquired smaller dies struck on larger diameter coins.
Experts say such things are impossible yet both Mints and US Mint has proven it is possible.

I was told I was allowed to share these on the forum when I bought them months ago.
At that point I was unable to post new images.
Now with my first Apple & my old 16 iphone its easy peazy as tech compliments each other.

I sourced the 1938 24k 5c direct from Ron & a BIG SHOUT OUT to @ZoidMeister for giving me The Pleasure of adding Jefferson Silver Dollars to my Archive. Gary pursued his vision, his concept of these two overstrikes strikes & sent donors for improvements.

It should be no surprise when it happens with a private mint since they can do whatever they want,, and as far as I know the US Mint examples are the result of late night shenanigans.

Mint does operate 24/7 using 3 shifts a day.

I also think errors riddled out of production stream & spirited out are SHENANIGANS too as are:

1913 V 5c, 1804 Silver Dollar, 1860's patterns made to order for collectors...

And all are legal to buy, sell & trade except 1933 $20 gold, 1974 Philly & Denver Aluminum Cents and 1964D PEACE , you know the 316,000 stamped out in Denver in 1965:

Thus my deep love for Carr Fantasy Coin Art

I've collected error coins since 1979 & they still give me great joy.
One day this crossed my path. Slept on it, then closed it next day.

    Covid was crazy huh ?

I discovered Dan Carr & Ron Landis creations from Mike Wallace’s smalldollars.com website. I started with the Apollo concepts, Sacagawea & Bessie Coleman prototypes along with the Landis 1995,1998 & 2000 concept dollars. That then led to a deeper rabbit hole of fantasy over strikes. What a fantastic journey it has been!

Far right 1995 In God We Trust Concept Pattern was one of last items, if not the last item I bought from Ron before he passed. I always wanted a 2nd one as it was my favorite of all his Concept $ designs. Actually is the one I felt he should have submitted for USMINT Dollar competition.

I visited their Mint once and assisted in striking the entire production run of rare die variety 14 Star 1796 Proof Dollars on the Medallic Arts Screw press with Adam Hardcastle. Took two people to throw the balls, they then recoiled and we'd catch. Remove Proof $, place shinny proof planchet on reverse die & do it again. Intoxicating 3 days in Eureaka Springs. I knew visiting was possible as others before me had taken the pilgrimage to Arkansas. They were generous.

I met Ron at ANA Summer Seminar in 1992, watched his Kings Coin Hammer movie from Texas Renaissance Fair & got hooked. I saw him and later Joe at the ANA annual event in 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 & 2000. They were Rockstars ! And actually musicians too as they'd play while students struck tokens on their travel screw press. Ron & Joe were open to my guilty pleasure of collecting error coins via their "Special Orders" product option. As they accommodated my need/wants I have very few normal examples of theirs.

A Genuine USA die paired with fantasy or token die restruck by Daniel Carr.

I think the 1759 obverse die was from 1965 original production. With designer initials included on obverse.

Newer ones look goofy to me, eye buldge, chubby cheeks, angry face reminds me of late 1990's era Chinese Counterfeit made Die. But collectors pay 4 digit $ for them, so vote with your Dollars.

    I did & sourced:

Dan's poor mans version which typically pops for $200 & NGC slabbed.
One of mine was fleabay'd for 20% above spot .999 silver before 2026.

They are only like 20 grams, not 31 grams which most sellers on ebay claim. I think there's like a 1,000 made.

And for the gold bugs 100 ish were stamped out in an Ounce of 24k gold.

Next are some of my early favorites, a pair of reverse $5 US MINT gold die paired with Clark Gruber $5 Pikes Peak Obverse Die.

Smaller dies struck on genuine USA American Silver Dollars ANACS Cerified as TOKEN & other as MEDAL.

    Neither are certified as $1

    Thank You !

We got new apple air laptops and old iphones pair seamlessly. No more Dell Hell. But, they just would not die. It crazy how windows like & familar Apples are, yet so much more stable, and new. I''ll admit back in 2019 the Dells were pretty spiffy.

    My archive is in chaos.
Using this oportunity to wander thru Carr Art & Landis and Rust & etc...

I actually have no Moonlight Mint or Gallery Mint enroute so its a good time to organize & reorganize.

Other than some USMINT high mintage 250th "heirlooms" incoming I can reflect, relax and enjoy.
Normal coins do not usually move me as production errors have done for most of my life, but I got the FOMOs !

It like I am 12 year old again obsessed with bicentennial hoop~la.

OH, did someone say " Bicentennial " ???

    Happy Monday !

So many options, these were only two I bought direct from way back when. If you dig thru blog there are numerous pairings with other dies or muled dies.

GENUINE & numbers matching 1884 & CC Morgan Dollar Dies hatchet cancelled, then brought back to life to serve another day. From dug up treasures to be eventually installed in Denver Mint Press @ Moonlight Mint to make some Carr Fantasy Coin Art.

You can easily spot these as eye on Liberty & Eagle's Eye are free of the hatchet man's wrath. The non-Carr's are cut thru eyes.

Oh, and thats my super big view magnafying glass I carry in a pill bottle for four decades now.
Bought an ancient projector in early 80's at thrift after I pulled it out to test image quality.
Paid them $4.99 & donated the balance back, just like that.
Took a long time to locate perfect case, eventually found unique pill bottle in my parents stuff they never threw away.
I'd be lost without it & pill bottle.

I do have B&L 7x & 10x I got in early 90's for Seminar Grading class that are just so tiny !

I like seeing whole coin razor sharp and image is so bright too.
