New! 2026 ~ Blast White Thread in Honor of Ricko
I’ve done threads in the past, but I’m starting a fresh one…
I know Ricko really loved the blast white coins, and he was such a cool member on here, I really miss the guy!
My latest Morgan dollar would’ve totally been approved by him, no doubt about it!
I took the liberty of applying his sticker, I’m sure he would’ve approved… 🥹
So, let’s see some blast white coins and remember Ricko!

By the way, who was it that made his sticker? I remember it was one of the members on here…

Another 1879S. Not as nice as yours, but still Ricko worthy.
Very nice! I love the OGH! 😎

I’ll do another Morgan from 1879, I’d like to find Philly and Carson City to have all four mints from that year…
For now, I just have the S mint and the New Orleans:

Don't have a coin to contribute but just wanted to thank you for reminding me about Ricko.
Years ago my mornings always included reading one of his posts.
In honor of Ricko I will end with his customary ending....Cheers!

That’s a beauty! I only have one walker and it’s actually extremely white, I guess I’ll post that and then stop for the day…
I don’t wanna overdo it on my own thread! 😆

One per denomination! Despite likely dipping on many of these, EVERY one of them still merits a CAC sticker!

Ricko was a treasure here. Cheers!
Blast white is the best!
I believe @jtlee321 might have created the sticker
I have a couple dozen blast white coins -- Buffalo, Mercury, SLQ, Walkers, Franklins, Morgans, and this Peace, my most recent pickup, from my local coin store. It's a real beauty, with a sharp strike and frosty luster.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Two coins with the ‘Sight White’ sticker popularized by dealer Bob Paul. RickO would certainly have approved.
This one came from Dan Duncan of the former Pinnacle Rarities.
This one came from Paul himself.

What a beautiful Gem BU!
Great thread. For my knowledge in the hobby, do folks here consider a 'true blast white' definition to have zero toning, carbon spots, haze, etc and at least decent/average luster? Below are 2 coins I own, would these qualify or does the small tone spots and haze limit their acceptance as blast white. Would a Morgan 1901 P rarely be considered blast white even if spotless due to its usually poor luster and dull appearance?
Here you go, a frosty half trifecta.
I miss ricko, he was amazing and the stuff of legend. I think he would approve of this coin.
Cheers, TomB

Not sure what Ricko thought of Carr art, but this is the most “blast white” Peace Dollar I have.
I didn’t overlap on the forum much with him, but I do miss him, too.
Cheers
I don’t know what others think, but to me blast white means no spots or toning at all. And I’d say it would have to have good luster, too, which rules out “blast white” circulated coins that are only white because of over-dipping.

Thank you d carr on this one. Miss ya ricko
Few things more RickO approved than a "tarnish-free" lineup. A great thread in memory of a forum legend!
A few photos of some nice blast white coins that I had on my phone’s camera roll. Enjoy!

Some of these coins might not be completely blast white but the coins sure are pretty!
