Variations Not Noted on Flip

Has anyone had success in getting PSA to update the database to capture variations on cards with no identification of which version it is on the label? I know for incorrectly labled variations, you have to reholder but when the variation isn't noted, has anyone been able to get PSA to correct the database to point to the correct variation by using a scan of the card for verification? I'd like to get my older flips corrected so I can add them to my master set without paying a million dollars to reholder to fix their mistakes.

I was successful in getting them to note the different Red Rooster Gretzky's on the flip but I definitely had to send them in but I think this would fall under the free re-holder service, no?

Thanks for the reply. You would think so but in the past when I inquired, they told me to submit it under the reholder service, i.e., pay the fee.

I remember speaking to PSA in the past about all of the 1973 Topps manager variation cards and how i had found a number of different variations over the years in putting together this set in PSA 9+. I was told that regardless if it is a visible variation, if it was not listed as such in the "official" SCD database, it could not be considered a variation by PSA, and as such would not be added to the flip. I would need to get the variation acknowledged by SCD, and PSA would then add the variation as a new SPEC in the PSA database. I spent some effort getting SCD to add the variations but had no success with the person I contacted. They were just not that interested.

If the variation is currently listed in the SCD database, but not listed by PSA as a variation, one would need to request the variation as a new SPEC in the registry. Contact Cosette Robbins to get the new spec added. If their is already a SPEC for the variation, but the variation was not listed on the flip, you can send it in and ask them to add the variation to the flip under the re-holder service. However, if they do not believe that the card is the actual variation that you have requested, they will not change the flip, and will send the card back to you. Also, i am pretty sure you have to pay the shipping both ways.
