USM Releases Special 1776-2026 Privy Quarters into Circulation

RichRRichR Posts: 3,983 ✭✭✭✭✭

From an article today…

The most highly sought-after 2026 "pricy quarters" are the limited-edition "July 4th" Privy Mark Declaration of Independence Quarters. With only 250,000 minted, they are randomly mixed into circulation. Because they cannot be bought directly, collectors are currently paying premiums ranging from $10 to $30 (and sometimes much higher for graded examples).

    My question is this:

Does “into circulation” include in any pricey mint sets???

I'd pay over that for a nice one just to flip it for some obscene profit on EBay since I don't collect quarters. :D

Yet the mint says it can’t get the 2026 coins into circulation because the Federal Reserve is not ordering new coins. That was the answer the mint people gave me when I asked them why the 2026 coins were not circulating.

Now we have this national lottery. I don’t want one. I am tired of the games the mint plays.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

So is this mean it's not going to be in rolls by now or the next couple days as the mint director stated?

NO !!! However random coins with the mint directors signature laser engraved on the reverse of the coins will be in mint sold rolls.
