    Have you ever thought of taking dozens of high-resolution close ups and splicing then together to make an ultra-super-mega-high-resolution picture?

    I collect world proof sets, coins featuring composers, mid-20th century U.S. proof coins, U.S. type coins, and whatever else I want.

    I currently do not have any normal macro lens. Traded them for some other objective lenses.

    Hey there @in2Coins, nice images as always! Can you draw any conclusions about toning from your close-up examinations? Are there deltas between rapidly produced "artificial" toning and that toning that has some, uh, tenure? I look at a coin from the last year or two with a rainbow of bright colors and think, aha, someone has encouraged this. But compared to a 100-year-old coin with gritty, grungy, crunchy color - is the texture different in your closeups?

    I’m in no means an expert regarding toning. I’ve taken a few pics of the same coin on different angles and the lighting does enhance or changes the color of the coin. But, when you look at the coin on normal light, it hasn’t changed.
