Semiquincentennial (1776-2026) Circulating Quarters Report Thread

P0CKETCHANGEP0CKETCHANGE Posts: 3,447 ✭✭✭✭✭

Got a couple Phillys in change today in northern Florida. I haven’t been following the new releases, so they were a pleasant surprise. If you’ve gotten any in circulation, feel free to add your report, and photo if you choose.

This past weekend I received (found in a parking lot) my first Washington Crossing the Delaware quarter. It's a 2021 and I have no idea how many years they used this reverse.

My dad just found a 2026-P half dollar in a Denver served area last Friday. It is not pretty, looks to have been in more than one pocket.

The reverse of the 2021 quarter is very nice. The Mint should use that reverse with the present obverse of the quarter from here on out and forget about all other reverses the Mint is apparently planning.

I'll buy the baseball quarter since I like watching baseball, but not the whole series. Wasn't too enthusiastic about the women quarters either after collecting multiple sets of the states and parks

My local bank had some nickels rolls I was able to score, but I haven’t seen any other 2026 coins other than those. Of course I never spend cash anymore so I don’t have a ton of opportunities to find them.

None in southeastern PA. Took some half dollars in to the tellers at my bank and was greeted with "What's this?"

Not surprising. With 27 years of continuously changing designs and many more to come, I don't think most collectors know most either.

They should know what a half dollar is, and that design hasn’t changed until this year outside of the bicentennial.

In other news, I got three more Revolutionary War quarters today. Seems my local coffee shop is getting fresh rolls of them.

The mint has issued so many new quarters that they a not special any more. Contrast that with what I felt in 1964 with the Kennedy Half Dollar and 1971 with the Ike Dollar. The State Quarters were exciting, but after that, it started to go down hill.

Hunted a $500 box and found 25 Mayflower/Revolutionary quarters. All but one were Denver. Hard to see July 4th coins coming anywhere near me soon.

My local rural Dollar General store had four rolls of the new quarters in the safe today and the manager offered to sell me one roll. All 40 were the Revolutionary War version from the Denver mint.
