in U.S. Coin Forum

Thoughts on the quality of the Declaration of Independence Quarter Rolls/Bags that drop June 16th, after some of the issues with the Half Dollar quality recently? Are we going to get back to standard circulated looking stuff?

Anyone in on these, I'm thinking about one roll set.

    I like the design of the Liberty Bell but the obverse seems lacking to me..
    I'm pretty sure the mint is going back to standard stuff after the semi-quincentennial unfortunately but I suppose that should be expected
    I don't plan on buying anything from the mint other than maybe a proof set and an ASE but I can't wait to see some of the new designs in person. I still haven't found any 2026 coins yet...

    I cannot disagree on the obverse, if I find one worth grading I'll have it reverse front.

    Roll set ATS - 9830 (was 7500 the other day - backorder coming for sure)
    Bag ATS - 5970 each P & D

    I'm in for at least 2 roll sets. Trying to build up two complete sealed mint roll sets of all the SemiQ coins (dimes, quarters, and halves) this year. Doubt it would happen, but I'd be in for some nickel mint roll sets if they were offered.

    While in the waiting room, they say you will have 10 minutes to complete your purchase. I was curious, and stayed logged in just to see what would happen after 10 minutes. And yup, the site booted me back into the waiting room. So good on the Mint! :)

    Some of the last sales on the rolls said “backorder” with the date you mentioned. If so, that’s better than the expected Backorder of September on the Rev War quarters.
    Not totally sure when “back order” kicked in, but ATS was over 1,000 when I noticed it.

    Learned a new lesson today. Went from wait room to site around noon, ordered 1 roll, went to cart, then logged in. Neighbor came by, told him I was busy then went back to computer to pay. My computer said none available and told me to empty my cart. It was 12:06 and my slow purchase lost the rolls in 5 or six minutes. I thought once it was in cart I had 10 minutes to pay? Guess not. Hope most that wanted them got them!

    putting something in the cart does not reserve it

    10 minutes means you'll be kicked out to the waiting room again 10 minutes

    Perhaps the waiting room won't be as much of an issue for the $20,000 one ounce bell $250 bell coin coming in July.

    That is quick, I'm still processing but was very early in -- ATS was still over 8000 after my purchase, and it very quickly dropped after that, I didn't expect this to be so popular like the Mayflower. But this went even faster.

    Looks like backorder dime bags are shipping early. My credit card was just hit with the charge. It’s the mint “you never know what you will get or when you get it”

    And what do you do with all of these technically made for circulation quarters? Do you sell them on the Internet?

    It is disappointing that none of these coins reach circulation. Back during the State Quarter period, my late mother in law avidly collected these coins, most from circulation.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Given the mintage of these coins, I doubt that they will be “treasures.” They contain no silver.

    The circulating coins are part of the hoarding. The treasures are as you mention ASEs, Silver proof sets , my 1909 to date Lincoln penny collection I started when I was 13 years old. Other things like autographed comics and cards, sealed CD box sets of my favorite bands, limited edition tour memorabilia and various other collectibles .
    I have three words to say: Addict, hoarder and impulsive. 🤗
