Harden should shake things up for the 2026-2027 season by trying something different.

He should shave off his beard and play without it.

Who knows, maybe without his beard he will see his game return to its former glory. :)

The one thing I can’t believe about nba basketball is how often a player drives into a crowded lane with no idea what he’s going to do and the opposing team just takes the ball from him. Spurs just did that twice in a row. I see that all the time. 😩🥺

SGA with a horrible effort last night

Game 7 coming up as I figured

It is interesting that in the Spurs/OKC series there have not been close games (except for Game 1 where the Spurs won by 7 points in double overtime). Game 2 was a 9 point win by OKC. Game 3 was a 15 point win by OKC. Game 4 was a 2 point win by the Spurs. Game 5 was a 13 point win by OKC. Game 6 was a 27 point win by the Spurs.

I hope that Game 7 is a close, down to the wife nail biter. However it would not surprise me to see one team (either one) play flat and get blown out.

    Your thoughts on Game 7.

i touched on this very subject in the gambling thread about an hour ago. game 1 teased us. had the look of an all-time great series. it has been anything but since. key guys getting hurt, and my take is that both teams are handling those injuries very delicately. Fox & Harper for the Spurs, Williams & Mitchell for the Thunder. the last three games in particular have had the look of the road team waving the white flag long before the game was over the moment the outcome became clear............to conserve health and energy. win our games at home and get to a game 7 seemingly has been the strategy, and that would allow players who are dinged, or have been out, max time to recover. then hopefully all hands are on deck when the season is on the line.

unfortunately, that hasn't made for great basketball. but there's no need for any of that now, so hopefully G7 mirrors G1.

So OKC lose game 7 at home and the Spurs move on.

Talk of an OKC dynasty was ended last night. Interesting that this year's finals will crown the eighth different champion since Toronto won in 2019.

Repeating as champion is difficult in any sport.

No disrespect to SGA but moving forward I expect Wemby will become the face of the NBA for the next decade (assuming he stays healthy and continues to develop).

If the Spurs beat the Knicks for the title Wemby will be the centerpiece of league promotion moving forward.

If the Knicks beat the Spurs for the title league promotion moving forward will be on New York finally being champions again after 53 years (since New York is the Mecca of hoops and since it is ......... New York!!!!!!!).

    Game 2.

    Who wins and why?

Knicks are 13-2 in the playoffs so far, losing two games in round one by 1 point each and they have won 12 straight games. Definitely on a Cinderella run.

If Knicks go up 2-0, forget about it. Spurs have to win Game 2.

the Knicks have been on a historic run. they've won 14 of 16 in the playoffs, including 13 in a row. and the two games they lost were by one point apiece. yet amazingly they were flying under the radar for many. in my opinion, it's because of the guy you mentioned in your other point. often times people get enamored with star players and forget it's a team game. and that's not to say San Antonio doesn't have a good team, because they do. they're incredibly young and are going to be a handful for the next decade plus. but imo, they're ahead of schedule. they just so happened to run into a team that is not. the Knicks have some wily vets on their squad, and it has shown throughout the playoffs. they never quit, they never panic, and they find a way to win almost every game. doesn't matter if they're down by 22 with 7 1/2 remaining like game 1 against Cleveland or they blow a 14-point lead in the final 6 minutes like last night's game........they still come out on top.

as for your first statement, i'll give you a pass on it because you admitted to not watching games. but it truly is one of the most asinine takes i've read on here in quite some time. Wemby is the reason they're in the finals in the first place. he's on the verge of becoming the face of the league, and once there he won't be removed for a very long time. seriously, watch him play sometime. he's unlike any basketball player you've ever seen. he does what you'd think a 7'5" guy would be able to, but he also does things that a guy 14 inches shorter does. 25 & 11.5 on the season, best defender in the NBA, has a handle, shoots 83% from the free throw line, and connects from 3-ball land at a higher clip than Caitlin Clark does. oh, and he's 22 years old. he played a poor final minute of the game last night, especially when he and Stephon Castle got their wires crossed and it resulted in a turnover that probably ended their season, but end of the day it's a learning experience he will grow from. he had 22 & 5 in the second half and was the reason they even had a chance to steal that one in the first place.

there is no shame in losing to this Knicks team, and especially so with a ridiculously young core that, again, is ahead of schedule. Lord willing, we're all still around in 10 years. i'd love to revisit this discussion and see how many chips the Spurs have won in that time.

i wouldn't go so far as to throw an extra s in there, but if that's how you view yourself, so be it.

you're entitled to your opinion, as we all are, but when you admit to not watching games and then proceed to call a generational talent overrated, you're drifting perilously close to basebal21 land and that's one place you don't want to be.

    it's not a good look

Net loss $1.00 on the Belmont Stakes. Had the winner but exactas failed. Cheaper than being there and paying $75.00 general admission.

Game 3 was very competitive, with both teams playing at a high level. Lots of stellar plays made by both teams on offense and on defense.

Me thinks this series will likely go at least 6 games if not 7.

Wow, after Wemby let Brunson shoot over him he stood there watching and let the rebound be put in instead of charging the rim. Oh well - game, set, match.

not much interest in the NBA when the Celtics arent in it, but i did watch (some) of the game last night. I stupidly turned it off at halftime thinking it was over. holy cow, how did SA vomit up a 29 point lead???? insane. is Wemby not quite ready for prime time?

Wemby is slightly overrated, he is unable to put his team on his back and carry them across the finish line. He’s young so there’s hope , but I don’t think it’ll happen this season.

I don't understand why wemby takes so many 3's. he only hits about a third of them. but he makes 59% of his 2 point attempts. good grief, stay down low and let them feed him. he would easily average 30 a game.

but, i forget, it is WAY cooler to stand outside and shoot 3's all game...

Craig… they lost that game mentally and then lost it physically. Their first mistake was mental, thinking they had it won at halftime. Okay for everyone watching believing it was over, but if you’re playing or coaching not so okay.
Galaxy described it best….. complete lack of situational awareness.
Terrible coaching not calling timeouts when that disaster was unfolding and players not grasping the concept that yes you can blow a 29 point lead if you don’t keep your head in the game and just keep launching missed 3 pointers every possession without working the clock at all.

The knicks player who made the game winning tip in…. one of the best heads up plays I’ve ever seen breaking hard to the basket after Brunson launched the contested 3. Preparedness meeting opportunity. I could watch that over and over and I’m not a Knicks fan.

@Darin, in the picture you posted I don't see any players who are 7'4" tall crashing the boards. Absent at the most crucial time in the game because he's probably out past the arc.

you are turning into the second coming basebal. watch the play. the Knicks ran a pick and he switched on Brunson. i mean, i guess he could've just allowed the most dangerous sniper on the court to uncork an uncontested three and then watch the ball go through the net as he stood underneath the basket. would that have pacified you?

newsflash: he has teammates. and not one of them blocked out the most dangerous player on the court -- the inbounds passer. next thing you know, Obi-Wan Kenobi gets a running head start, which in turn made his vertical a few inches taller than any Spurs player who never once thought that he might be coming, and those extra inches turned into one of the best tips (all things considered) that you'll ever see.

that cataclysmic meltdown for the annals was a team effort throughout the duration of the final 21 1/2 minutes of that game, Wemby included. but please stop showing unbelievable ignorance by insinuating that he's the primary reason why they lost. did he tell De'Aaron Fox -- the only Spurs player on the court with real playoff experience -- to try and score seconds earlier instead of pulling the ball back out, playing hot potato and wasting precious seconds until someone with a high FT% got fouled? i'm sure you didnt see that play either.

A very entertaining game, with the first half being All Spurs and the second half being all Knicks.

I wonder how both trams will come out and play at the beginning of game 5.

Fox did his perfect Harden impression in the second half - pound the ball then chuck up a 3 with a few seconds left on the shot clock, they just stopped doing what they did in the first half that worked so well.

Kind of a double edged sword. Spurs win go back to NY for Knicks to celebrate with a possible win at home for their fans. But Spurs lose deprives Knicks to celebrate at home. But I'd hope Spurs feel they owe the fans one home win in the Finals and not to allow Knicks to celebrate on their home court.

I was wondering at the time if he got fouled. I don’t remember if they showed a replay. Can you challenge a non call like that or does it have to be a foul called on the court that you want changed to no foul?
