I think the coin might be cleaned

I'm going to guess that it's improperly attributed.

It’s a half dime attributed as a dime.

It says “Cleaned” on the grading label. So how would your thinking the coin might be cleaned indicate what might be wrong with the picture?

The recognized die marriages for dimes are attributed with JR, not LM.

Thank you - that would explain it, even if it didn’t cause me to laugh.😉

I do like the die rotation, otherwise that coin is better off in an album.

Good catch!! I have not seen a 180 degree rotated capped bust half dime yet. Wish this was the first!

Me too, Chase. I honestly believe that the purveyor thought they were doing a courtesy, putting the "NGC" and the coin facing up. But an error hunter might have gotten pretty interested in this coin's image (and may not have noticed the flip-flop at first).

10 C… 5C…. Close enough. Grading is hard, but all is not lost… the date is correct.
