@Halfhunter06 with it being only one of 10 awarded {at least the link says 10 rather than 100), consider documenting the items with photos and saving any ephemeral paperwork, box, etc not used in class for posterity.
If someone does that at least this history lesson from the mint won't become forgotten to history itself.

Congratulations on becoming one of the ten who will be able to share in getting these coins out to the public. I wish there were far more.
Now if the mint could get them out to the general population instead of selling them for profit to speculators, it would be fulfilling its mission.
At my last local club meeting the topic came up as to who had any of these Semi Quincentennial coins. Only a couple of members did. They had bought them, not received them in circulation. This is not an elitist club. There are only a couple of us who have “big coins.”
I saw a headline about how the current mint director is a collector who really supports the hobby. You could fool me. Like the last one, he appears to be more interested in producing coins to sell for more than face value than getting them into circulation.
His price for the Uncirculated, base metal Mint Set is ridiculous. The auction sale of the three “last cent sets” for high rollers should have been an embarrassment for him. If you think that I am displeased with the current mint policies, I have successfully made my position clear.
