SEQUEL TO NEVADA'S VALLEY OF FIRE PHOTOS TAKEN YESTERDAY

In this below linked two-video Playlist first see first the segment of Elvis Presley's Grand Prix Car Race that took him through Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park in his film, "Viva Las Vegas."

Then compare a driver's view on the same roadway while "racing" through the Valley of Fire yesterday, some 63 years later.

In comparing the roadway and scenic red rock sandstone structures that border it, it is notable how little has changed. The towering Valley of Fire Nature-sculpted Sandstone monuments remain as impressive as ever.

(Compare the two-holed rock formation in the above 1963 shot and as also filmed yesterday, as seen immediately below:)

    Added views from Yesterday's "race:"

AND FOR THOSE WHO MAY HAVE MISSED IT, HERE IS THE LINK TO YESTERDAY'S POSTED PLAYLIST THAT INCLUDES THE FULL VISIT TO VALLEY OF FIRE. NOTE THAT THE "RACING SCENE" DIFFERS FROM THAT IN THE ABOVE LINKED PLAYLIST IN THAT IT IS IN PORTRAIT, RATHER THAN LANDSCAPE VIEW, AND HAS ACCOMPANYING MUSIC:

A search yields Bodie CA. It’s a state park left “as is” to explore. Once a mining town of 8,000. Looks like an interesting place to visit. No metal detectors or souvenir hunters allowed.

Hail the gift of memory in this fifty-second state. Who sold me down the river and shafts me while he waits. Outside the gates of Eden, star spangled and so late.

Although the Casino Hotel Buffets of yesterday are disappearing, there are still a few "All You Can Eat" places in Las Vegas, this one in Chinatown, and if you time it right only $26.95:

Although best known for sushi, my recommendation, include orders for the skewered offerings including the best ever beef short ribs:

My guess was in Nevada, but Bodie is close.

That was a good guess, Bodie is south of Reno, close to the Nevada border. Same part of the world.
