I have the 1939-1942 and need to add the 1936-1938 coins.

The 1939 and 1940 are PF67. The 1941 and 1942 at PF65. The 1939 and 1941 have attractive multi colored toning.

I bought the 1939 already graded and made the 1940-1942 halves from raw submissions.

A fun project.

I’ve often thought of purchasing some walker proofs. Someday, I will, as it’s one of many projects on my to-do list. I would love to see pictures of your Coins. It sounds like you’re off to a good start.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

EDIT: I posted a pic that was not SanctionII's coin and deleted. Sorry.

I agree! I started out like gang busters acquiring these 4 pretty quickly, although recently PR67 CAC’s have dried up for me. Still need the elusive 1936 and the 2 more common 1940 and 1941.
Best of luck in your pursuit .
    Zack.

I have learned to stay away from the registry craze. It's a good way to end up wasting money if you are determined to be at the top of the heap.

I have a set of the Proof sets from 1936 to 1942. The half dollars range in grade from PR-64, CAC to PR-67. It's never going to win any prizes, but it pleases me and that's all that counts.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Those are all super pretty. I love the subtle blue tone on the 1940.
