What would you grade this 1795 FH 50c?
The uneven wear throws me. What would it be graded in today's world? It is in an old green holder btw. I will post the grade tomorrow. Opinions are appreciated also! Update: It's graded G4

Good-6
The strike is weak which creates the appearance of uneven wear. I am thinking VG10

G6, nice half.

I think it would grade VG8.

VG08.
I agree with those above.
No where near strong enough for a FN12 yet so much better than GD04.
(Although I wouldn't be shocked if it was a VG10.)

My grade would be G6.
PCGS grade is probably VG8
In any event, that's a very nice coin.

What's going on between the 9 and 5 and up to the bust (curiosity here)?
It's hard to tell from those pics but between the 9 and 5, it looks like a die crack and higher up it looks like scratches.

I still like 👍
VG10
It's a die crack . It's a O-121a, Y over star variety. Less than 20 known according to what I have read. Thanks for the input and guesses. It's graded G4.
Love it
I see it as G-6. Too much obverse rim is missing for the next higher grade, even though other details would look right for VG-8.
Looks more like a 06 or 08! Very wholesome, too!!

Nice O-121a - a tough variety. Looks like Liberty has whiskers because of the die clash. I expect it's graded so low because of the weakness on the stars 11-13. Maybe also a planchet flaw at the top of the die break. Very cool coin!

G4 is the correct grade. Something a variety collector can love ... but not me.
