Should have a Gold Bean, that's a lock 65 or better IMO
But based on CAC’s unofficial standards. if it’s considered a lock 65 (as opposed to a lock 65+ or better) it shouldn’t qualify for a gold sticker.
Mark, what do you think, based on the limited information presented before you, what kept this Morgan from a CAC Gold?
My assumption is CAC is not as keen on burnt blue rim toning as some collectors are.

Pat, my guess is that it was a combination of the darker areas of blackish rim toning on both sides and the light scratches on Liberty’s jaw, which are apparent in the larger obverse image. As per my previous post, if CAC thinks the coin is (just) a low or mid-range (edited) 65, that would likely preclude a gold sticker.

IMO, this coin is undergraded and should have been gold CAC, the open field looks so clean compared to many ms65. I think the scratch on the morgan's face is the reason it is not gold bean

Did you intend to write 65 in there instead of 66? The coin is currently in a 64 graded holder.

I was hopeful. it has a nick on the chin which is a focal point... otherwise it's a gem.
I saw that but it is very PQ regardless. CAC has been extremely tough lately.

What a great looking coin!
Purty! That white label would look great next to our shared Walker minty green 3.0. 👍🏻
