1834 Bust Quarter Gamble!

I purchased this coin last weekend raw in a simple cointainer... A dealer friend of mine has owned it a long time. He showed it to me probably ten years ago and I think it's stunning.
My photo's fall well short of capturing the true golden brown with a little green color... They acually show what looks like wear - It's now on it's way to our hosts for grading. I'm curious what you all think it will grade or won't...
It's the B-4 variety I believe...

I’ll guess AU55+ and it’s a nice looking example. If it weren’t for the apparent wear on Liberty’s cheek and jaw, I’d be guessing AU58 or 58+, instead.

Cool coin! This one needs a video. My grade is 62.

    I'll say 58.
I was more taken with how clean the coin is.
    Very few marks to note.
    I like it very much.

Yeah. I'm out of my element here... looking at PCGS images of various grades and cannot come up with a conclusion as I look at mine in hand. Mine certainly has UNC luster...

    This is a PCGS MS61

    and here is a AU55

Usually I am very good at grading from images, but I can't get a grasp of the lighting here. I would need photos taken at a different angle to be sure of a guess. The color palette and unusually smooth surfaces are making me think there are underlying hairlines.

I don't see any... I've had multiple people (who's opinion I trust) look at it and nobody else did either.

Very nice looking quarter, I really like it! AU58 is my guess. But I wouldn't be surprised to see it in an AU63 holder.

I can guarantee that you won’t see the coin in an AU63 holder, regardless of what anyone thinks it should grade.

I would be very surprized to see this coin in an MS holder. Tough for me to be sure of 53 or 55. Beauty regardless. Congrats.

@jacrispies i spent some time looking over this coin with a loupe Saturday and didn’t see any hairlines.
It is extremely pretty in hand. I am looking forward to hearing what the coin grades.

I think the chin scuffage is extremely accented by my light angle. I was trying to get all of the coin to show the color and holding it off to the side is what allowed me to get that shot. I'm a photog hack with no patience to learn.

its a lovely looking coin and I like it. I would love to see it in hand as I tough to really assign a grade. But my guess is AU55 or 62+. Its all in the chin and whether any rub is showing..... Just my 2 cents.

Best of luck with the submission- This is a tough call from the image. I am thinking 58 as the floor and an MS grade seems possible but I am not betting the ranch or making that call given the images. TPG can be brutal on Bust Quarters.

    Love it!
Crisp, I'd venture a 55 on this one, must look great in hand.

Hi Todd - you know me well. I love Bust dimes, quarters, half dimes and now Bust Dollars. I really love nice examples with high eye appeal. This 1834 fits the bill.......

Coins like this are why I invented the grade AU-58.

Did you seriously invent this grade?
If so, that is cool and kudos to you for having done so.
