    I think the Bigfoot 3 cent nickel is more of a grail.

    Nah I'm not going to read that whole thing, but I would bet "treasure" and "moonshine still" got mixed up in a conversation somehow.

    I think a few rural locales have similar tales. In Western North Carolina it is the Shelton Dollar, named for Duck Shelton. The story reads very similar: deep woods, long lost caves, silver mines....

    Although I've only tried hand engraving once, I feel like I could make a more quality product than these :D

    The two we had at ANACS (one twice) were much better looking. This looks "antiqued."

    See these two postings from the E-Sylum. One of these mentions a Rich Hartzog catalog that had one. As I recall the auction had a picture of the piece. The catalogue might be available from the ANA Library.

    Wow. I read the articles. …. again metal analysis must be believed. Have any of the 142 restrikes sold?
