    FURTHER FROM THIS WEEK:

Sea Birds Challenge US Air force F-22 Raptors for superiority of Alaska Skies Over Icy Ocean Water

On a late March afternoon the skies over Anchorage Alaska’s Cook Inlet with its ice-filled waters are the setting for a confrontation between two sets of dinosaur descendants - birds and man-made raptors.

    FROM THIS FRIDAY:

Captured in video "today" Friday, as the camera pans, a Stunning Panoramic view is offered extending from Active Alaska Volcano Mt Spurr to Majestic Mt McKinley. It is fronted by the unusual Stilled Ocean waters of Cook Inlet resulting from a Slack Tide when the otherwise moving waters are stilled just as the outgoing tide reverses to become an incoming tide.

Beginning with a zoomed in closeup of Alaska’s Active Mt Spurr Volcano and concluding with a zoomed in closeup of Mt McKinley, this panoramic video bridges views of both the Alaska Range and Mt Susitna located between them.

This is the Mt Spurr that has erupted multiple times in recent decades and threatened to erupt again in the past months to cover 80 mile distant Anchorage Alaska once again with ash.

This is the Mt McKinley that is the tallest mountain in North America as seen some 140 miles distant from Anchorage and in recent decades was also known as Denali.

Closer to Anchorage Mount Susitna is approximately 30 miles from Anchorage.

Check out the YouTube Video Shorts on this same channel (dalejay8901) to see an abbreviated version of this video accompanied by the song “You Raise Me Up” with its mountain referencing lyrics.

BACK STORY OF "YOU RAISE ME UP," ONE OF THE MOST POULAR SONGS OF THE MODERN ERA:

Composed originally as an instrumental, the song's Norwegian composer Rolf Loveland requested Irish writer Brendan Graham to add lyrics. In 2001 It was performed for the first time as a tribute to the composer's mother at her funeral. Several years later it became an international hit when sung by Josh Groban.

Many today attribute the "You" in the song to represent a divine power with "standing on mountains" related to Biblical references to the mountains Moses and Christ ascended. The song writer himself said he leaves it up to each individual to identify who the person or entity is raising one up. It has been suggested that the song's "mountains" are a metaphor for overcoming life's insurmountable challenges.

In the above linked videos the depicted Alaska mountains offer a visualization of that metaphor.

(You will have to watch the above linked videos to see the zoomed in Mount McKinley.)
