If you had a subscription @ $33.00 ( as I did ) and the mint decided to change the price to $124.50 WHY WOULD IT BE WRONG TO SEND THEM BACK ? !!!

why not just cancel or pause the subscription then? Less work and hassle for everyone involved.

Because I'm waiting to see What the huge Price change is all about.......

It's about a huge price change. But, I know, you're hoping for more. What did they add to the 2021 set that they are still selling for $124.50?

But holding the subscription is different than letting them deliver. You can cancel before they deliver when you are finally convinced they aren't adding anything.

If you flip these, will you be accepting returns of the price drops on your customers?

So when did the price change on the 2021 set ? YOU CAN PURCHASE THEM ON THE 'BAY FOR UNDER $25.00

At the same time that they changed the 2026 set. That is their standard pricing for all Mint sets. It is not a special price for 2026. The eBay price is irrelevant. For all we know, the ebay price for 2026 sets will also be $25 soon.

It’s $124.50 because that is what they are charging whether you like it or not. What you see is what you get? Or do you want what is behind box #2 ?

That's not why you're suggesting you would send them back. You have the opportunity to cancel between now and a few days before release to decrease or completely pause your subscription.

Exactly. Being disingenuous when you know full well what the price is now is not a good look. But maybe I'm just old school.

Somehow I doubt they would refund you 124.50 -- but it is part of our government so it's always possible.
And yeah, it is never wrong to benefit off government stupidity because you help fund the stupidity in the first place.

Hardly the same thing. If the coins are scratched, it's one thing. What is wrong with your 20 sets that you would return them all other than you don't like the secondary market value.

And if I bought sneakers and later decided I didn't like the color, I would NOT return them

I remember buying one 1964 Proof set from the Mint for, I think, $2.10. Then when the 1968 Proof set came out at $5, everyone screamed at the price increase.

These here are just circulation quality coins in a mint set. Not a special production run like a proof set. The previous price was already high considering what was provided, then to quadruple it is obscene. These are just circulation quality coins with no special blanks or handling. Other than the cent and nickel, they reportedly make money on the minting of the coins themselves. With $5.82 face value in a cheap blister pack holder, how do they honestly justify charging the additional $118.68? They make profit within the $5.82 face and then they make obscene profit within the $118.68 packaging.

Oh, I agree that the price is obscene. I suspect that the Mint figured out that some people were making a sot of money on some new issues, and they decided to grab that profit for themselves.

Perhaps it is simply typical government incompetence.

The US Mint did not make any money last year according to the recently released annual report. Naturally, nobody mentioned all the unpopular stuff that they were still sitting on years after making it for collectors and figuring out where they went wrong. https://oig.treasury.gov/system/files/2026-03/OIG-26-021-(secured).pdf

There are many interesting things in the report, but this one stood out: "The FY 2025 Bullion Program reported a loss of $14.6 million, primarily attributed to the Mint’s silver hedging activities." Government employees that think they can run a silver hedging operation is pretty funny and sad at the same time.

Their numismatic net margins were actually not bad compared to all of their other operations, but volumes are falling. 2026 will probably prove popular, but I expect 2027 to be abysmal based upon their 2023-present financial performance.

Here's a more affordable suggestion for the Mint.

Would you buy from the Mint one each Mint-wrapped ordinary BU roll, P & D only, of each design of each denomination for Nickel through Brass Dollar(s) only for face value plus $35, delivered in one box?

No cents. Let them quietly go away, like in Canada.

I was thinking of this exact thing today. For these 2026 coins I would pickup a couple roll sets like this with a reasonable premium. Unfortunately, the mint won't be reasonable... they want $40 for $10 of dimes alone.
